We were at the campsite opposite this take away. We decided to look there in the evening but we stayed there for dinner. This was great. Bottle of red wine Castelares. You get bread as an appetizer. Ask for some olive oil and salt to complete it. A steak de boeuf and/or grilled chicken. You get mixed lettuce with it. Ice cream cake and an espresso. Delicious and cheap.

This was the best grilled chicken I've had anywhere in the world. Juicy, tender, perfectly charred but not burnt, and delicately crispy on the outside. Perfectly seasoned to allow the ingredients to shine without distraction. Ingredients were clearly fresh and well-sourced. My side salad was crisp and refreshing. The service here was really special. The staff are especially welcoming, friendly, with the same warmth they offer locals. They checked in on me several times throughout the meal - something you will not/rarely ever experience during casual dining in Portugal. Plates are priced very generously. Please consider this as a stop on your Camino!

From the outside it doesn't look particularly inviting but you shouldn't let that put you off. We received a very friendly welcome and everything is clean in the restaurant. The tables are simple but you still feel comfortable. The menu was explained to us in English and we were even shown the grill. The beef was very tasty and perfectly fried. The chicken was amazing! Rarely have I had such good chicken. Price-performance is great. You should eat here if you are in Fao :-)
