I’m a little hesitant writing this review. This place is popular enough without attracting more people to. We’ve been in the Algarve for about a month and, so far, this has been the best overall restaurant. Mind you, the outside ambiance is nonexistent but the food, staff, prices and inside atmosphere more than make up for it. We arrived for lunch 15 minutes before they opened at noon. We were the only car in their small parking lot. While waiting for them to open, another car arrived and a woman walked right in. Ok, we took her lead and followed her. So glad we did as most of the tables had “RESERVED” cards on them so there were only a few open tables. While seated, we witnessed a steady stream of customers (assuming mostly locals) arriving that continued during our entire 1 hour lunch. The parking lot completely overflowed. Our pleasant English speaking waiter suggested their house grilled beefsteak (after all, this IS a grill place) which we shared along with a few beers. We had a front row seat watching their grill master do his thing. And what a magical experience it was seeing him cook for dozens of hungry customers. Now for the food review… this was one of the tastiest steaks I’ve had in a very long time! What may have made it even better was the price! Lunch for 2 with bread, olives, freshly made potato chips, salad and steak (along with a doggy bag) was only about $25 US! Best bargain lunch in Portugal! It’s our new “must stop” restaurant anytime we’re in the area but we just hope we won’t see anyone reading this review there!
