Was here with my family on New Year’s Eve ,very busy and we hadn’t made a reservation.Food was excellent and very reasonable priced .staff very helpful. All in All great place for authentic Portuguese food .
We been in vilamoura over Xmas period and we are family of 9. To find somewhere to eat . Were the staff don’t look at you as trouble with 5 children and customers make you feel awkward.,well we’ve eaten here twice. The kids love the place. Lasagne . Peri peri chicken, fillet pepper sauce. Mix meat kebabs. Monkfish and prawn kebabs. They are beautiful . But for us what made this place so special was the outstanding service from ty the young lady and George. They are credit to the place. No just a job to then. But they go out there way to see all your needs are met. Outstanding. If you’re looking for good food. Comfortable surrounding and amazing staff with children. Then this is the place to go. Owner look after these pair. Outstanding people
The stand out feature is that the prices are more competitive than many of the other places nearby, reason is that its just not very special at all, dry sardines, mediocre skewer, average cataplana. Better value elsewhere
Had the steak with a Roquefort sauce, literally thought about it for a year as I had it before heading home last August. Absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend, the staff are super friendly & can't do enough for you.
Customers of Gavea for more than 10 years, standards collapsed on 2023. Poor new staff and value engineered menu a shame
We had dinner at this fabulous restaurant a couple of nights, the food was amazing, and reasonably priced, Tai Filipe Marcelo and all the staff were great, definitely give it a visit you won’t be disappointed.
Had 4 lovely evenings here. Wide choice on the menu and all 8 meals were delicious. The meat kebab was the stand out dish but the sea bass was a close contender. Not sure why they have received such poor reviews as couldn't find fault.
Shocking food and not a steakhouse. 3 steaks ordered and not cooked correctly. Not good cuts. Even after complaining no customer service provided. DO NOT GO! Read reviews we had unfortunately not looked at reviews and just went in from a walk at the marina.
Surrounded by expensive restaurants around the marina we spotted the specials board here which looked good value. We both had the grilled bream with fries and a small draught beer. All cooked well and served by friendly efficient waiters. Bill came to just €22.50 for everything - pretty good value for money.
Always come here for breakfast. Best brekkie on the Marina. Reasonably priced. Quick and friendly service with great views.

Ordered one of the specials for lunch. Sardines and boiled potatoes. The sardines had not been gutted and all the intestines were still in place. Not at all appetising to discover partially cooked fish faeces when cutting into my lunch. One of the three potatoes was only partially cooked so inedible. Raised my concerns with the waiter but never got a reply. Will not be returning
We came for Happy Hour .. to our surprise our 4 drinks (2 aperol spritz & 2 Cuba libre) came to 24 euro! Turns our happy hour was 0.50, or 1.50 off of the original drink price... not a happy hour I have ever heard of! Following that... the food was completely sub par. The lamb chops look like they'd been hammered under a forge press and the vegetables were dull plain and watery. Don't bother. Awful.
Enjoyed a nice seafood dinner here on a recent visit to Vilamoura - If I'm being picky I'd say the service could've been a wee bit quicker, but the food eas excellent and generous portion size. Would return.
There are loads of restaurants to try in this lovely marina ... we just fancied pri pri chicken and saw they had an offer on for this lunch, so got a seat right on the marina edge. We watched the fishes swimming in the clear waters and the odd boat leave as we waited the short time for our food to be cooked. It arrived pipping hot and we got a plate full. It wasn't anything special, juts well cooked, tasty fast food; at £8 a plate you can't complain at that!
The restaurant/cocktail bar has clearly had a recent facelift judging by some travelers photos. Not quite understanding the negative reviews. We stopped here to look at menu and decided to opt for dinner. AS a couple we played it safe and started with sauteed mushrooms which were absolutely superb, I was surprised to see a couple of slices of lemon on the plate but gave the mushrooms a little drizzle and pleasantly surprised. For mains I opted for the house steak with mushroom sauce and my wife the fish and chips and again both excellent. All washed down with a jug of Sangria it was a very nice meal. The staff are very pleasant and the price is very reasonable. Would recommend.
