We ordered some clams as a starter, which were sublime. Fish mix that was just missing the roe (what a shame), the tomato rice was very good. The service was excellent! It was my second time at this restaurant and it won't be the last.
Although they only accept cash (perhaps it's time to review this situation),
I RECOMMEND WITHOUT HESITATION

Warm welcome and tasty, unmissable cuisine.
I ate the raia alhada (winged ray) which is remarkably delicate.
Friendly and very professional service.

Family restaurant where know-how takes precedence over the storefront and advertising. Local atmosphere as we like it. Notice to all fish and shellfish lovers, you have found your address. PS: the one in front of MarSol ?

We ate Sardines, for a Monday they were actually good, accompanied by mountain salad and 4* potatoes.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, I give it 2* because they only accept payment in cash, there is an ATM on the island, I saw some potential customers leaving as soon as the employee said they didn't have an ATM.
The atmosphere is a little outdated and in need of a major upgrade, the room was poorly air-conditioned and it was very hot 2*

Parking: Difficult depending on the day and time, as on the entire island

Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible

An excellent restaurant we ate the typical Cataplana di Marisco dish, a broth of mixed fish and vegetables cooked in the typical pot of Arab origin which preserves the flavour... what can I say, amazing fish of excellent quality, very abundant, it's for two people but it's fine for four! ! Excellent service, the guy who welcomed us was very friendly and professional, highly recommended!

Dinner was good. Got the steak and it was a very good portion and decent price. Service was very friendly and nice. Only reason this place gets a 3 star is they charge $2 euros for a take out box!! Left feeling a bit scammed after being charged for a .10 take out box which is standard practice at a restaurant

I had good recommendations for this restaurant and after a while, it was time to pay it a visit.
We ordered fried cuttlefish roe and razor clam rice, very weak.
Rice must be either steamed or of poor quality and the roe must be frozen.
I don't recommend it.

Anyone who knew the old MATOS cannot help but regret the current state of this old restaurant.
The sardines presented were not only of poor quality, they were accompanied by "greasy" (?) and undercooked potatoes.
An experience that I certainly won't repeat and I wouldn't advise anyone to try.

Modest restaurant with good traditional regional food, known for its razor clam rice with fried fish, clams among others, on my last visit I had “bad luck” with the razor clam rice. Subject to new assessment.

I didn't have a favorite dish until I discovered this restaurant's fried fish (FRESH!!!) and razor clam rice (WOW! best Algarve secret). Don't be put off by the aesthetics, it doesn't have a view of the estuary, but the taste of the food is worth a thousand estuaries. And in any case, they will have to go for a walk because they are so full, they have time for landscapes. You're welcome!

Don't go for aesthetics. Try fry mix fish and "arroz de razor clams". Your new favorite dish. I promise

Local restaurant with quality homemade food, from bread, fried fish, cockles, salad to medronho. Good surprise to repeat. Only accepts cash.
