Stayed at the Casa Ave Maria several days and also had lunch here. HIGHLY recommend both the restaurant and small hotel. Run by a hardworking couple with a great staff. Very close to the basilica and other local attractions. Also great for breakfast and/or a drink.

The best cod I ate in Portugal. Perfect service, tasty and plentiful food, all top notch. Cozy atmosphere, great view, easy access from the Sanctuary.I ate Cod and my companion ate chicken in honey and mustard sauce. I highly recommend it.

Hilda has been an excellent host. Very friendly and warm with her guests. We have been there for 2 days, renting 2 rooms. 1- enviable distance close to the sanctuary, you just cross the street and you arrive. 2- family atmosphere, 3- theRestaurant food very good and at a good price and breakfast with some fresh croissants. 4- the rooms are clean, comfortable and with good space.
