In November many restaurants in this area close for the winter season, so we were pleased that this restaurant was open. We had a nice dinner here, and there was some good Portuguese fish dishes on the menu to choose from.

We were heading to another Restaurant when we walked past and there was a real buzz so on impuse we stopped. Couvert was good and drinks good. Lot of people leaving as we weren't early so don't understand why service was so slow. Only one overworked friendly waiter. Took an hour to get food and bill very slow. Owner a character but likes his ego stroked. Food was good but nothing is quick so if you are hungry be prepared!!!

It is impossible to book this restaurant. Firstly, the website doesn’t exist. If you try through Facebook it says the site isn’t configured and if you try by telephone they don’t answer the phone.

We stayed next door to the restaurant, and on our first day I broke a bone in my foot. Paulo and his team couldn’t have been more helpful. We had 2 takeaway meals so far, we had chicken piri piri and chips & rice , last night a large Seabass to share , both meals were amazing and we are planning a further meal in the next few days, don’t miss out on this restaurant… Amazing

Where to start with this, I don’t normally write reviews however I feel I need to on this instance. We arrived having booked the table for 7pm, on arrival I advised them that the party would be 5 rather than 7. We were seated and a drinks order didn’t take long to follow, so far so good. We got offered some bread and olives which was good as would keep the 2 kids happy until the main meal came. Unfortunately this is where it went wrong. After 45 mins I asked if we could order, did the kids first and the waiter was away to walk off and I asked if adults could also order, here I was questioned about the other members of the party, here I had to remind them that nobody else would be joining us and that we’d like to order. So the whole party orders, they did ask if we’d like the kids meals out when ready, yes please. I have to say they get points for this as the kids food didn’t take too long to come out. We got to 8.40 and just as I was away to say to cancel everything and we would leave our mains arrived, tuna steak was massively overcooked, lamb chops also over cooked, piri piri chicken was nice I’m told however the veg was a mix of undercooked and over cooked including hard potatoes. We tried what we could but enough was enough. I made the point as to how disappointed we were and how bad the tuna was, this was removed from the bill. When asked by another waiter I tried to explain the issues but I was told it was the same for everyone and that we were offered a new tuna steak, yes we were but at nearly 9pm and 2hrs later we weren’t interested in that. When on holiday I like to enjoy my dinner, take my time and I’m in no rush, however this was beyond that. I don’t see why anyone should have to wait that long. Most disappointingly was the fact was friends of the restaurant arrived after us and food was out with them in no time at all!! Like I say I’m not one to complain and nor do I post reviews as I feel 1 persons bad experience is another’s positive experience but this was so bad I couldn’t leave it alone. The only positive is my daughter liked her burger and in fact said it was one of the nicest she’d had!! The red wine wasn’t bad either but then that was my dinner!!

This is a smallish Portuguese restaurant on the road down to Praia Olhos de Água. We tried to walk in on our first night in resort but it was fully booked, so booked it for a few nights later. The ambiance is very good and the proprietor is a bit of a character. The food was good, but I wouldn’t call it exceptional. It’s a fairly standard menu and we went for the grilled lamb chops and the the grilled squid. The squid was very well cooked, but the accompanying vegetables could have been better and less boiled to death. The meals are clearly cooked to order, but the kitchen suffers to keep up with demand when the restaurant is full, so my advice would be make your table reservation an hour before you would like to be eating the main course. So to confirm I was slightly surprised this one is booked out every evening, but I’m guessing it may be partly because there’s not a great deal of traditional Portugese Taberna’s in this part of the resort of Olhos de Agua.

Once again we visited this restaurant,I don’t need to read the menu.I just check they still sell the T Bone steaks. So that was my choice, and superb as normal. My better half picked the Lamb chops, which looked good. We were seated on the outside terrace, and had just been served.Another table of diners was just being seated. And because ours looked so good, they didn’t bother looking at the menu. Two ordered T Bone and one ordered Lamb chops. The staff are friendly and helpful. And we always call during our holidays in Olhos. We go at least twice a year.I would definitely say to make a reservation because the restaurant is so popular. We will return next year. Keep up the good work, and the stocks of T Bones.See You again next year.

We both had the calm cataplana and it was superb! The cataplana had calms, prawns, shrimp, pork and sausage with a rich sauce. The service was top notch, very friendly and timely. Highly recommend. Reservation required since it is always full!

Lovely place, great atmosphere. Agree about the sardines they were amazing and the piri piri chicken. Good prices for a great meal. You need to book but it is well worth it...

Really loved this restaurant! The staff are so very friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you. They make you feel very welcome and comfortable. The service is fantastic. Lovely atmosphere and the food is outstanding. Highly recommend a visit here.

Have been visiting here for many years & always been a firm favourite. This time however, the food was not so good. As an example, a cod dish which was literally smothered in so much garlic, all that could be tasted was …..garlic & it completely ruined the fish. Another pork dish was incredibly dry. Although an odd special is offered, the menu hasn’t changed in years, which can be good or bad, but the actual menu’s are now quite tatty which doesn’t give a good impression. On a positive note the service is still very good, but there was a general feeling that complacency had set in. Needs a bit of a shake up.
