Working in the restaurant business myself I'm understanding of most situations and rarely give 1 star reviews and this review is in no way a reflection on the food served at this establishment because we did not get the opportunity to actually taste their food. So basically we were staying at the Intercontinental Hotel less than two blocks away and due to a recommendation from one of our guides and the close proximity to our hotel we chose Estrela do Parque for a light meal. I of course I checked Trip Advisor to see reviews and hours of operation,T/A clearly stated closing time was 10:00pm so we headed out,my mother with her cane and my father with his walker,he has a lot of difficulty walking due to bad hips and a recent back operation. We arrived at around 9:15-9:20pm and sat at an outside table which was dirty. I even removed two coffee cups and wiped down the table with one of my mother's "Wet Wipes" because I knew it was close to closing time. I asked the young lady behind the counter if we could order inside or would someone come outside. She was hesitant to answer originally saying they were closed, I begged her to please serve us telling her what a mission it was to get there and pointing out the fact that T/A said they didn't close until 10pm. She then relented and said "oh,ok no worries we'll serve you and your parents!" Later a young man who came said it was impossible because the kitchen was closed... I pointed out that T/A stated that his establishment closes at 10pm and I actually opened my Trip Advisor app and showed him,upon seeing that he told me yes of course they're open until 10:00pm but the kitchen closed earlier! I felt like I was in the middle of a comedy routine (the British comedy series "Fawlty Towers" came to mind) and the joke was on my poor parents and I! So I just wanted to point this out in the sense that I believe closing times should be consistent and respected. Additionally for any possibly handicapped potential customers I'm not sure the management at this establishment cares much about potential customers who might be handicapped.

Small, nice outdoor cafe for a drink or quick bite. Fried Hake was delicious. Mateus was a good choice for the evening.

Really busy with local people , so that tells visitors a lot .Husband had a pork dish & I had a soup for Dinner , both really good . Stopped by next day for a beer & a sandwich at lunch time , still busy , good service , nice simple food & cold beer . Excellent.

I stumbled upon this place by accident. It turned out serving one of the best seafood rice that I had with plenty of prawns, crabs, clams and squids...very original and yummy!
