Love it at O Algarvio, always great service, food is good, if you fancy trying traditional Portuguese ask for the meal of the day, often sold out by evening service!! If you like hot sauce ask for their homemade piri piri ... Go easy, it is?!! You cannot beat them for value for money

I had a bug on my plate. I didn't eat the food and I still paid €20!!!We arrived for dinner at 9:30 pm. We asked if it was still possible to have dinner and were told yes and were shown to the table.The person I was with ordered a beef chop and I ordered a roast sirloin (because in my head, as it was something that was already made, it would be easier to prepare). Meanwhile, another young man arrived and sat down a few tables away.His food came before ours, the bitoque came next and I still waited. When the loin arrives, I notice that it is warm/warm, I noticed that it had been out of heat for some time. I can still eat 3 pieces but in the meantime, when I was about to put a forkful of rice in my mouth, I noticed something dark that I thought was that delicious charred part of the loin, when I went to remove it with the knife, it was an insect. I didn't eat anything else, neither did those who were with me.The employee justified herself by saying that there had been a disinfestation that same day. When we went to pay and leave, the cook came to talk to us and said the same thing and that it cost €20 for everything.At the time I was so apathetic that I just smiled and said there was no problem. But in the end, I come to reflect. At least they could have not charged for my dinner, since it was all on the plate with the insect.The bitoque cost €9.50, the sirloin was €12 and we ordered 2 juices. The €20 was enough to pay for everything including the insect in the food.If they didn't want to see us, they just said we were going somewhere else. In this way, they lost two customers plus customers who spoke to us asking for recommendations.
