During a recent visit to Cabana do Pescador, we were absolutely delighted by the experience from start to finish. This restaurant truly stands out in every aspect, making it one of the best dining experiences we've had so far.

“Foz do Arelho is always a good walk on sunny days, today we went there for our walk and enjoyed this terrace, good atmosphere, friendly and normal service. We ordered two burgers from the menu that come with a dose of fries and the typical ketchup and mayonnaise sauces in small packets. The burger is good and tasty, accompanied by a lettuce leaf, caramelized onion and bacon. The burger is good and tasty, I just thought the bun was too big for the burger or the burger was too small for the bun. It was a good break from our motorbike tour with an affordable menu. I leave the suggestion to harmonize the size of the burger with the bread.

Parking: In low season it is easy to park.”

We have never experienced such wonderfully authentic Indian food before - the flavours were on a different level.

It is so far removed from the commercial, stodgy “Indian” food we remember back in the UK - this is so very different - a true flavour of the Punjab - made with love and served by kind hearts.

There was a very warm welcome at the door, a thoughtful explanation of all the dishes ( including the Punjabi origins, the ingredients/spices, the recommended combinations, the wines etc ) and excellent service throughout the meal - it really was quite memorable.

The starters of the Onion Bhaji and Gol Gappa Chaat were truly outstanding and set our expectations for the mains. We were not disappointed! The layers of flavour in the Honey Cauliflower and Butter Chicken were amazing - all washed down with a few glasses of chilled Alentejo wine.
