I had my 50th birthday party, everything went as planned, the buffet was as expected, everything looked and tasted great, including my immediate family and friends who praised the food and the atmosphere.
I am truly grateful to all the restaurant staff who made sure that this special day in my life went as smoothly as possible.
Even during the party I had several unforeseen musical surprises, band, mariachis, etc... So I had to ask the restaurant for several extras outside of the initial budget, something that quickly made things easier, and in the end we agreed on the price and I really thought the price was fair.
To the staff who worked, I would like to thank you for all your attention and care, so I thank you in this way and I also left a generous tip in the room as everything was impeccable, from the room, the food, the desserts, the coffee, the extras readily available, the price
I really just have to say Thank you to everyone and certainly O Restaurante a Selva will be my first choice for a next family reunion.

I liked the experience. The restaurant is calm even on the weekend, the food I found to be of good quality and the fact that the buffet is served by the cook, I love it, as the food is not messed up by everyone, I recommend going to this traditional Madeiran restaurant.

I had a birthday party with a buffet at this restaurant, with kebabs and chicken. Despite the good will of the staff (like the waiter, who was super helpful and polite), it was all a fiasco.It started with the starters, which were minimal even for the few guests present, but the worst was yet to come: they tried to serve us rotten meat.We only found out that it was spoiled because one of the guests walked by the kitchen and smelled the rotten smell, typical of rotten meat and, "apparently", not even the owner of the restaurant, who was in the kitchen at the time, saw that the meat was no longer suitable. for consumption. Still, he decided to serve it and we had to be sent back for refusing to eat it.In the end, he still tried to charge a higher amount than what we agreed, even after the situation with the skewer, and we ended up paying with a certain "discount" (which I still thought was too expensive).I had already been there in the salon for a christening that I had enjoyed, and I wanted to have a get-together even in the restaurant part, but never again. If the owner of the house says, as he did when we were agreeing on prices, that "this house was founded almost 30 years ago and that the service and the meat are always excellent, and that everyone is satisfied", and this is the service he presents to me, I never set foot there again because what can be done once can be done many times.If none of the guests had noticed the smell, we would have some congestion today.I don't recommend it at all.
