It may just be bad luck on the night we visited, but the dinner took 2.5 hours to get through (which was way too long). Perhaps the restaurant was unusually short-staffed. The quality of the ingredients were very good, but repetitive. Only real complaint on the food was with the tarte tatin which was executed poorly (crust soggy, fruit mushy).

The menu as in the pictures is a bit outdated, but the offering is sufficient and very good. The prices are moderate, the service is excellent. The prawn risotto and spaghetti pesto as well as the matching wine were excellent. The restaurant is recommended

The best meal we ate in Madeira. Overall, I've rarely had such good beef as there. If you want to sit outside you should reserve in advance, but inside it is also very nicely decorated.

The food is amazing. Particularly the Beef Tartar and Passion Fruit Cheesecake. What really elevated the place were the staff. Both the lady and gentleman who served us were lovely, recommended two great wines. Very reasonable prices. Best place we ate in Funchal and we tried some of the Michelin Guide spots. Loved it so much we went twice. Highly recommend visiting.
