We ate a bowl and a burger here. The burger was okay, the bowl was bland and dry. The location is cool though.

We had lunch here with some expectations because a friend who is from the island recommended the restaurant to us. The service was OK but not particularly friendly or attentive. The prices are very affordable. Very pleasant space. We ordered the small portion of chopped “à Gruta” and we really liked it because the meat was tender and the sauce was tasty. But then I spread out... I ordered dessert - crème brûlée - and I've had food poisoning ever since. It's been about 48 hours and I've never felt so bad. My boyfriend didn't eat this dessert so he's fine. My symptoms started about five hours after lunch… it couldn't have been anything else. I hope management reads this to urgently review food safety and hygiene in the kitchen. This is unacceptable.

I've never eaten a cod I couldn't chew
Their "signature" beef was the tripe and when I told the waitress that it was too salty to eat, she told me that this is the recipe.
I'm not pretentious, but dinner was like a canteen
Grade 1 service

We had a wonderful dinner with a nice view of the ocean. Delicious and fresh plates, we split the Lapas & Picado Gruta Style. Both were flavorful and very tasty. The gravy/sauce with the Picado was absolutely delicious and a generous portion! Great service as well.

There were many people so we had to wait a long time but we were also with 9.
Food was amazing but a bit expensive. The most expensive dinner we had in Madeira

The service was exceptionally low. I don’t recommend. There are better choices.

This was a nice meal at a Michelin starred restaurant. The options are limited, but the plantain Moqueca is a traditional dish in Brazil, so it’s not an invented substitute for the fish version. The restaurant was small with a friendly staff, but it would have been more enjoyable without loud children with indulgent parents.

Ok restaurant for lunch. Shared a Picada and got chicken for our 4 year old. Food was average. Service was good. The location is next to the road so a bit noisy.

Mediocre food and quality. Ordered a beef sandwich. Found 2 black hairs in each slice (maybe it was one big one cut in two?)
Nice location.
