We decided to visit just the bar as we had heard it was a great view here. We went to reception and were charged €15 each to go up to the bar 3 persons. We were then given a credit card with €45 euros on it to put against any drinks bought. We were shown to a lovely table and given drinks menu. We chose a Long Island, gin & tonic and a glass of wine. The cocktails were fine but the glass of wine was very disappointing. The waiter poured at the table and gave a very small measure. We only had one drink each and this meant the wine cost €15 - very poor value for money. I know you have to pay premium at this type of bar but I did feel taken advantage of. Please see photo to make up your own mind- I did not drink any wine before photo was taken. Don’t go here if you are thirsty!

Really expensive, trout was cold and flavorless. Grouper was overcooked. Rice was under done. Dessert pretty but too sweet. Snack menu too fishy. Excessive use of cabbage. Top Chef would disapprove. Limited menu. Not many vegetarian options. The bread was great!!

I was quite dissapointed with the visit. Actually the view is really nice. But in the menu there is not so big choice of drinks and they didn’t have some of them. The price 15€ for drink of not good quality. I visited other bars in Madera with super view and much better drinks for 5-6€ …

The review refers to the Galaxia Sky-Bar!Atmosphere, view, location and welcome were very good. The rest was sometimes very annoying and is not worthy of a bar of this class.1. After the card was brought to us, we were ignored for 30 minutes and we had to actively ensure that someone came to us. The waiters were probably mentally already off work. In any case, there wasn't much going on on Saturday evening.2. The cocktails were very “simple” in presentation for the price and the environment. But taste good.3. After the live DJ was finished, there was no more music, so even the guests at the next table started playing their own music on their cell phones.4. After we ordered, we were informed that they would be closing soon and we were already given the bill. If we had been served directly, we wouldn't have had any stress.5. That was the biggest annoyance: completely untypical for Portugal or Madeira, an optional tip fee of 10% was added to the bill, which was not mentioned by the waiter.When we paid, we were told the full amount including the tip (without a corresponding note), to which we rounded it up generously, assuming that we still wanted to pay a tip. At this point at the latest, the waiter should have come forward and honestly mentioned this fact. When he left we noticed the whole thing and demanded the money back. It was unpleasant for us as guests and also for him, because we were no longer willing to pay the 10% tip. We just felt like we were being “cheated”.That was a terrible experience!Good to know: A minimum purchase of €15 per person is required for entry. That's the average price for a cocktail.
