Food was delicious! ?
Just to note for the Brits! The pilau rice is not the same as you would expect in the UK. However, still amazing ?

Prompt unobtrusive service and blindingly good curries. Colourful and fresh with rich deep spices. Light flaky yet chewy nan. One of the best I’ve had. Did I mention the ice cold beer?

Sometimes, I wish I could award 6 stars. We’ve visited twice now and the quality of the food is sublime - much better than 99% of UK Indian restaurants. Can’t recommended this place enough.

We have never had such delicious Indian food! Perfectly seasoned and well-filled dishes. We had Aloo Gobi and Paneer Matar with vegetable Beryani, highly recommended. For €30 pp we were done including drinks.

Vegetarian options: Indian food always has many vegetarian options and that is no different here. Our main course (2nd photo) was completely vegetarian and so were the samosas in the first photo.

AVOID. Tourist trap.

Overpriced for portion sizing. Have not seen portions this small anywhere in the world for indian/Nepali cuisine.

Dishes end up being approx 15euro because u have to order rice or bread. 15euros on the island is a decent price to expect a certain quantity.

Service was horrendous but could be excused perhaps because it was a friday night.

Only reason it gets 2 stars is because the food was fine.

The place is a little hidden behind a bend in the building and ground, but if you spot the sign, you know where you are going! So look up and around. It’s by the Forum, which is convenient. The menu is divided by meats and then vegetarian options, so it’s easy to find what you want. There is also English on the menu, which was helpful for me as a tourist. Very enjoyable stop after walking the city all day! The food was absolutely delicious! We did have to wait a while, but it wasn’t long. Very nice to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere!

Had it delivered to our airbnb. Was the best meal after a long day hiking. Had the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala which were both done perfectly and the naan bread was amazing. Really good portions, would defo recommend. Also saw on tripadvisor that they said it is halal for any Muslim visitors to Funchal.
