Great experience. After you sit down, you have two choices, fish or meat. We opted for the fish after the owner/chef/waiter presented them to us fresh daily. The cooked dish is presented with fruits, vegetables and edible flowers which pair perfectly with the fish. The unique dessert is the chef's surprise and a continuation of this wonderful taste experience.

This is the best culinary experience I had in Madeira. I've been here 3 times and I always enjoy the evening so much. The owner is very sweet, you have to adjust to his type of humour, but it makes the whole experience even more unique and personal.

You have to have a reservation in advance, so make sure you plan it in advance.

They don't have any menu, instead the owner comes with a plate full of local fishes or meat cuts and asks you what would you like to get. We usually get a mix of anything he recommends and it's always absolutely tasty. For sides you get a mix of vegetables he grows in his own garden, which go perfectly with the fish or meat.

The owner often comes with random culinary surprises, to taste the cheese, olives, some local dessert, it's just an EXPERIENCE.

When it comes to paying, we were always surprised that it doesn't cost as much as we'd expect.

The negative reviews here are so unjust, I understand it might miss the expectations of people who don't have a sense of humour and expected to order a burger, eat it and leave, but for that you have other thousand touristic places which will do just that.

This is a great place for people who like to meet local people, enjoy the great local food Madeira has to offer and are looking for a perfect dinner date or something more special.

Three of us went to share a bottle of wine. He didn't provide a menu/list, but we told him what we liked in a wine, and he chose a bottle we enjoyed. We didn't order any food, but he kept bringing little bites: nuts, olives, cheese, appetizers, and finished with chocolates. Nice surprise and great service. It's on a quiet little street. Recommend highly.

A unique, culinary gem in Madeira.
We had the most memorable dining experience at Infinito Wine Bar. The (presumably) owner personally curated a beautiful spread of fresh fish, shrimp, vegetables, and fruit based on our preferences, even bringing out the fish to show us beforehand. The wine pairing was perfect; and the dessert spread, incredible.

The service was thoughtful and attentive, making the high-quality food and intimate setting even more enjoyable. Reservations are required, but it's worth making the time for.

Prices were very reasonable, especially for Funchal, and we were pleasantly surprised when we got the bill. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Madeira.

Horribly rude owner. Tried to walk up for dinner, 90% of tables were empty and was informed that they only take reservations, which was fine. However, when I asked an additional question about where I could make a reservation and I wanted to make a reservation for tomorrow night the restaurant owner said to a table of folks seated “See I told you I didn’t like their culture.” Sorry that I, an American, asked you a question so I could come to your restaurant tomorrow. Absolutely won’t be coming tomorrow or any other time I visit Madeira.

Having dined at numerous high-end restaurants, our recent experience at Infinito Wine Bar in Funchal truly stands out for its authenticity.

This establishment offers a beautifully authentic presentation of Madeira's culinary delights.

The fish was grilled to perfection, capturing the essence of local flavors, and the wine selection was unparalleled—the best we've enjoyed in our many visits to Madeira over the past 15 years.

The dessert was a magical montage of treats, each infused with the rich taste of Madeira wine, leaving us thoroughly enchanted.

The chef at Infinito Wine Bar is an exceptional host, exuding warmth and hospitality, clearly taking immense pride in the service and food they provide.

A word to the wise: make sure to pre-book a table. The chef prefers to focus on a smaller number of guests, ensuring attentive service and a more intimate dining experience. This element of "less is more" truly enhances the overall experience.

We look forward to becoming regular patrons of Infinito Wine Bar for many years to come.

I hate to give a bad review but they are important to assess whether the visit is worth it. Unfortunately I can't understand all the positive reviews and unfortunately I fell for it.
I don't know what people usually eat, but if you're used to good food, you should avoid this place. And I don't mean the taste here. It's really debatable, but in terms of craftsmanship, my food was a 2 out of 5 at best.
You can only get a table there if you reserve in advance. After “rolling my eyes” I did get one. Like the package that came before me. There is no card with prices. Just a board in Portuguese. When I said that I don't know Portuguese and I can't read the map, he asked me why I came to Madeira if I didn't know the language. I guess I don't need to comment on that. The table was dirty, with leftover food from the previous person.
I had the traditional meat skewer with salad and vegetables. The meat was really well done and tough, even though the owner asked me in advance how I would like it. I wanted Medium. He tried to make amends, but unfortunately the next pieces weren't edible either. The vegetables are overcooked and tasteless. The guests next door seemed to be very amused by his entertainment program. Conclusion: If you are used to good food, you should eat somewhere else.

If you are passing through Funchal, you absolutely must go to this restaurant which thinks of its customers above all its wallet! No menus, you choose meat or fish then the cook is free to make you a plate that is worth the detour! With wine, main course, dessert we got it for €58 for 2. New flavors, fresh produce, in short we had a great time! I advise you to book :)

The half of the tables were not occupied or even reserved but no chance to get any drinks. The owner just mentioned, without a reservation no drinks. I think it’s a bit rude but okay, his restaurant, his rules …

A must visit. Reservations are necessary but it's worth it for the genuine and personal service from the host. The food is fresh and tasty, using every variety of local ingredients. 5 stars! ⭐

Echt een super lieve man!
