Absolutely loved this completely original place. Met a super friendly staff at the bar. Served us poncha from a jar just sitting on the bar. Nothing beats this authencity.

Because it looked like food across the street, but we just wanted something to drink, we ended up at John's. A very friendly lady who had lived in Switzerland for many years gave us very courteous advice at the counter, hence service 5 despite self-service. A bolo, an apple pie with the drinks, and the apple pie was wonderful with lots of cinnamon, which was a great snack and a very warm conversation.

Apparently John makes the best Poncha on Madeira, there's a diploma on the wall to prove it. My husband certainly enjoyed his, while I had a really nice latte / galao

I asked for the bathroom and they told me that I have to consume first before using the bathroom
Very cozy place
Perfect for drinking tea or hot chocolate accompanied by a delicious homemade coconut cake, we enjoyed ourselves after admiring a superb sunrise at Pico de Ariero! Bring a little wool, it's cool in the morning.

In a deep ravine, near the levada, there is a bar that serves delicious ponche: passion fruit and lemon. Apparently it tastes different every day, but always delicious. Cheesecake with coffee eaten in such a setting improves everyone's mood.
Parking: Several parking spaces at the bar.
