Didn’t have cups for coffee take away (latte), no fresh Portuguese moist croissants in offer. You can find much better bakery at

If you like tourist areas this is fine, if you don't, I wouldn't advise going out of your way to visit this or any other place in Funchal. If you are knocking about the area then this is a quieter side with outdoor seating, friendly staff (seemed under pressure though)Food was nice, order didn't come exactly as asked but that had more to do with me and my accent not being clear enough - need to remember when traveling that the people you are speaking too may not have English as their first language.

We came across this small bakery by chance, which is relatively inconspicuous in the west of Funchal. The understated facade hides some tasty treats! The passion fruit cheesecake is highly recommended - passion fruit pastries are a regional specialty. All cakes are baked on site and taste really great! The staff is very friendly and card and cash payments are possible without any problems. Definitely more than worth a visit.

Ordered a hot dog and a juice. Saw they had beer and asked for that instead. Juice arrived beer never did. Dog wasn’t even warm never mind hot. Bread was dry. Raw onion bitter and over powering. Topping of grated carrot and potato chips just fell off you tried to eat it. No cutlery offered. Nothing momentous about it.

Burnt and dry mixed toast: I don’t recommend it. Furthermore, the capuchin was a milk sock with whipped cream on top. Expensive for the quality it presents.

Four staff who were busy serving customers, completely ignored us so we left after 15 min. Drinks etc appeared to arrive soon after ordering and food looked very appetising. We were completely blanked, one of the older members of staff was clearing tables - starting from the other end of the cafe to us. The rest of the staff either made themselves busy or disappeared into a back room. Locals appeared to get immediate attention, as we were leaving a local couple arrived and were served as they sat down. Shame that this cafe has a two-tier customer service.

We went a couple of times for coffee, smoothies, cakes and wraps. We liked everything. Maybe the cheescake with passion fruit was the highlight. Good price for value!
