We asked chips as a side, but they served us vegetables instead. (There’s a choice of either or)
However… TAP FILTERED WATER WAS €4 and they didn’t show us the drink menu, so it came totally unexpected. Be aware of that.

It is essential to have lunch or dinner at this restaurant. Alberto a great professional. Good fish, good poncha, good sangria.... Everything perfect in a typical Madeira place.
This place is really good. Definitely preferred over Galeria Restaurant opposite on the other side of the street. I tried both. O Velho Pescador is much more authentic. Very friendly and personal staff. Great tasty food. Good value for money - restaurants in the area are all slightly higher in price. Highly recommended. Will come again.
