The good point is the staff, they were nice. The view is mediocre. The pizza was way too cheesy and too fat. The pasta bolognese was too small and the sauce was soggy. The fish was mediocre and the ingredients didn't match. The meat was OK, but the portion was way too small for the price.
Edit: three of us got food poisoning.

Very tasty food and drinks, the service was excellent... we had the terrace almost to ourselves and the waiter was super nice... even a small snack in between but not intrusive... we drove up to Monte especially for dinner and it was worth it...

We luckily stumbled across this amazing place on a trip to the tropical gardens. Serving traditional food from Madeira, 10/10 for the views and our waiter Hugo made us laugh and gave great recommendations on the food and drinks. Would definitely recommend stopping by…. and I’m generally pretty fussy. ?

Very tasty food at a great price with a good atmosphere
The best restaurant I have eaten in in Madeira in terms of quality and price. We went up at rush hour and had to wait in line for 10 minutes but they quickly gave us a table. The service is super attentive, very polite and pleasant. The atmosphere is very comfortable, jazz music plays in the background and the terrace is very cool. The food is spectacular, the presentation of the dishes is very careful and the waiters are attentive even to pour you a little more water in your glass. My recommendation: the sword steak with banana and the braised tuna salad. I certainly recommend going up to Monte and eating here.

We only stopped there for a quick drink. Good selection of drinks, very friendly service, from the outside area you have a view of the cable car and a wonderful view. The outside area looks a bit sober and bare, it could be made a little less pretty.

We ate a delicious lunch at the top of the teleferico carts, after having strolled through the botanical gardens! The food was tasty, the drinks refreshing and the view stunning! I recommend a visit to anyone planning to visit the botanical gardens or the Monte Palace tropical gardens.
