Fantastic pastal de natas (warm is a game changer) beautiful other food but most importantly the service was super friendly, helpful and kind. Also you can watch the natas being made.
God forbid, I came from mainland Portugal, I'm looking for a pastry shop with the minimum conditions on this wonderful island and I found a pastry shop "If that's what you can call it" without a minimum of professionalism, the products besides being scarce are not fresh, the service of the two ladies at the counter was of poor quality, I'm going back to the island but I'm definitely not going back to this establishment... this cake was left whole, I couldn't eat it because it was so hard, I could break my teeth if I did. try...

A fabulous little find, we stumbled across this place on our way to visit the castle. Fabulous Cafe late & pastel de nata. You can either buy takeaway or grab seating upstairs by the open windows… Highly recommended.
We found this place close to the Castelo Sao Jorge and it was good to pop in for snacks and drinks after walking around the castle in the heat of the day. We could see them making various pastries. We loved the natas which were amongst the best we ate in Portugal. We also had some croissants which were equally good.
We stopped here after 8 am for a coffee and pastry before visiting the St. Jorge castle; few other places are opening any earlier and it was wonderful to discover a cafe open. Very friendly staff, small selection of delicious pastry options, sandwiches, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and a variety of decent coffees. Additional seating on the second floor. Clean bathrooms. An early recommended stop before visiting the castle.
A great place for breakfast. Fresh sandwiches, pastries, orange juice and good coffee. Friendly staff quick and efficient. They won the top prize for their Pastel de nata in 2019

Very good pastel de nata, cinnamon ice cream and coffee, and very friendly service. Place definitely worth visiting while in Lisbon.
Perfect little local place with a range of delightful pastries. My husband loved the fresh squeezed OJ each morning of our visit to Lisbon. I highly recommend the cappuccino and custard tarts with some of the flakiest pastries around.
Nice little bakery close to San Jorge castle - we went there to grab some food to go. Even though it was busy, the service was quick and efficient. We tried Pão de Deus and Croissant with Porto wine. Both were really tasty and fresh - the croissant was amazing!
This was the best pastel I ever had. What more do you want? The best part was it never had a long line during our entire stay, probably because of the hilltop location. However, service was a bit slow. Worth it for that fresh pastel. It is easy to get to from the free elevator at the Chão do Loureiro building up to Restaurante Zambeze’s terrace, then walk uphill for three minutes.
Delicious freshly made pastel de nata and coffee. Lovely selections of extra food and drinks too. Great location near Sao Jorge Castle and very reasonably priced. You can also see your delicious pastries being made!
