We love this restaurant. It's so friendly and nice. I must admit that I only ever have the same meal here, the diced chicken and chips (large). I tried it a few years ago and was blown away by the realest and best chips on the whole island, served in a bowl with what is essentially a chicken pie with no crust. Even weirder is that the gravy contains whole olives. Who thought of that! Just talking about it makes me want to go back. Nothing at all pretentious about this lovely place. Great service, great food and lovely staff.

(Translated by Google) Dear owners! They were just about to close but still gave us a very warm welcome and prepared food just for us. So we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. There was also a wonderful conversation about it. Very warm people and the food was delicious too. Thanks for saving our evening.(Original)Sehr liebe Inhaber!

We visited this friendly restaurant to try their crostini, we loved it so much we returned the next day. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. The restaurant is above street level which is a real bonus.

Visited last week, very few customers at 9pm which should have been a warning. Menu limited but decided to opt for a pepperoni pizza. Was told no pepperoni, asked about another pizza, told not available. Eventually I asked what was available and eventually managed to get details of what was on offer. Ok, the pizza I had was nice but not what I really wanted. Loads of other restaurants close by that I’m sure will have a far better choice at 9pm!!

Let me tell you, the woman that is running this place is everything. She is kind, helpful, and full of great advice for your stay on the island. The Poncha here is unmatched. A sweet honey nectar that the gods would approve of. You must come here. It is quiet and unassuming, much like its host. You will not be disappointed. The snacks are also on point.

This place is wonderful. Maria, who was our server, was truly marvellous. She brought us olives, and she made poncha to the standard she would want for herself- it was like the nectar of the gods- only cheaper! It is fantastic here! The food is good, the drinks are fantastic, and despite some really silly reviews, it is so affordable. It is a true gem. Please visit.

A great little restaurant in Funchal. Friendly service, outside space and amazing food and drinks. Definitely recommend a visit!

Drinks are terribly overpriced. First we had to scan a QR code to view the menu although I didn’t want that. The food is mediocre the waitress was nudging me to order a drink which I didn’t want. Pigeons were all over the place, even a homeless guy came to us for coins and the staff members did nothing to shoo him away. This was terrible not recommended at all.

Great food on a great terrace and it’s a shame the place isn’t busier as there is a lot to offer. I think they need to advertise the terrace more maybe for drinks as well as just food as is it a little hidden away and you don’t really know it’s there. Eating outdoors is one of my favourite things about travelling and so we were delighted with this place. The pizzas are amazing (and look better than the pizzas at the italian down the street) we also loved the prawns, mussels and limpets. The house wines are also great and everything is super great value.

We stumbled across this place and it turned out to be the best traditional food we had on our holiday. We had the crostini’s some with fish, some geese and some veggie. Beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. We had a big bowl of fresh salad for €2.50. Also braised octopus with fries. The octopus was tender and cooked with onions and peppers in olive oil paprika. It was stunning. The fries were home cooked and perfectly done. Really simple good food cooked extremely well. And the bill was lower than any meal we ve had so far. Highly recommeded. We re going back tonight for the mussels. Also pizzas and some pastas, fish and burgers on the menu
