Living in the Hotel Panoramico, we were looking for good, authentic local cuisine beyond the tourist mainstream. A few streets further on, we found what we were looking for in the Restaurante Casa da Sogra, which was not only within walking distance, but also very positive in every respect: owner-run family restaurant (the owner's parents are the chefs) with an unusually nice approach both from the senior personally and from the service (the owner's daughter actively works there). We were so impressed that we ate there again two days later and left the restaurant in a high mood. Excellent food without the chichi, great wine, wonderful dessert, excellent value for money! Thank you for the successful evenings, we'll be happy to come back!

I have been a customer of this excellent Madeiran restaurant space for many years.
High quality food, chef Manuel, great professional, as well as the entire team.
I highly recommend it.
Meat, fish and seafood are all very good.
Best wishes ♥️

Great family-like atmosphere and the best food (we had) on Madeira. Lots of dishes with fish and seafood. Everything from the menu we tried was good - we went there multiple times during our vacation. Special recommendations: garlic shrimps with bolo do caco.

The local culinary experience meets the friendly, family atmosphere here. It is worth starting your exploration of Madeira here.
Kid-friendliness: A chef couple with several years of international experience returns to Madeira to open a traditional restaurant with their daughter. In addition to fish, they think of children, there is also chicken and pasta on the menu.

The eating is good, the place is also good, we just had a bad experience as the service took a long time, only after about 50 minutes did the first edible thing arrive, a starter, bolo do caco, the meal only 2 hours after our arrival. We noticed that all the other tables were served even though we arrived later...

Personal experience: As a first-time tourist in Madeira, you get better food and service for the same money than in downtown Funchal.

The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and efficient. The shrimp starter and the sea bass with shrimp were my favourite dishes.

A superb surprise, a restaurant that I really enjoyed. The setting is not bad, the waiter and the owner are great ?.. and the food is delicious. I went there 2 evenings, both evenings were magnificent. We ate really well, I recommend 2000%.
