The place was very nice, in the heart of old town. The area was crowded but the center looks this so it's fine. We ordered chicken steak, vegetable soup and pasta, everything was good. Service was really great. Ambience was nice as well. So I would definitely suggest this place for a nice dinner.

We're 'jumped on', we have to move on and make numbers... no downtime. Moderately pleasant servers. Most unpleasant boss. You have to speak English or nothing... and as well as them. Lack of patience with people who don't speak English very well - like me. Closed to Spanish. When I check the bill I find a loaf of bread that never made it to the table. There are much better places around. Disappointed and I advise against it.

We ordered tuna stake and skewer of assorted fish. Tuna was absolutely ruined (overdone big time) with absolutely no presentation as a dish. Fish Skewer was good and I would order it again. Service was very average. Resume: there are plenty restaurants in downtown of Funchal, don't waste your time and money on this one.

The first time was amazing (beef on a stone with fries, bolo da caco and beef steak with sauce), the second time was also really good (beef on a stone with fries, bolo da caco, limpets and fish soup, but I didn't like the soup as the fish was quite hard as resembled meat more than fish).

Octopus cooked in 2 different ways but mine very rubbery. I just pointed it out to the waitress. When the bill arrives it asks me if I pay in cash or credit card. Cash payment. When she takes the money asks me ok? But don't come back with the €2. I ask him and the surprise is the boss who comes back a little aggressive and tells me that the service was not included. I take my 2€ and leave….limit if I don’t hear names of birds loud and clear. Lousy. Rated 1 overall because of this. Go your way!

The traditional beef skewer is very tasty, the meat was incredibly tender! The fries were a bit soggy. The traditional bread is also ??. We have another one for dessert Ordered a crepe with hot chocolate sauce. It was good, but €6 is too much, the portion isn't big. Service is also very nice and everything went pretty quickly. Be careful not to eat dishes with chicken! We went here for dinner on May 4, 2024. That same day, a few hours later, I realized I had food poisoning. No problem with the other dishes, only my chicken salad was bad. Now I read in the latest reviews that other customers had the same problem last week! So no one wants to spend their vacation away from chicken.
Excellent restaurant, 5 minutes' walk from the Farmers' Market, very pleasant service, excellent skewers, definitely stop by :-)

Great food, worth stopping by. Made on site, so you have to wait a bit, but it's worth it. I recommend coconut ice cream, served in half a nut :)

We came there, because we were hungry and didn‘t read the red flags. Including the very pushy guys infront of the restaurant that constantly tried to attract other tourists in a very unpleasant and pushy way, we sat outside and it distracted our whole dinner. The service was nice, the food was okay. At least we thought it was. Turns out the Tuscan Chicken Pasta gave my friend really bad food poisoning. Besides the chicken there were several meat bits, that tasted really weird. I don‘t know what went wrong, but this is really not a restaurant I would recommend.
