They are playing with your life here. You have to be careful with shrimp and other seafood. Here the shrimp appetizer smelled like opening a trash can in an alley. Tried one more anyway...salty, tasteless, gross. The main course, mixed fish and shrimp on a skewer, was even worse; the vegetable was stuck to the fish because it had been made days ago and ended up in the freezer. Horrible. Never again.
Update: already feeling nauseous in the taxi home and only just made it to the toilet in time.

The food was delicious and the staff was incredibly hospitable and helpful. We went for a fresh fish from the plate and paid top price for it. Tip… ask how much the fish costs before you get a surprise at checkout.

Restaurant well located on a busy street in Madeira with a varied menu of traditional Portuguese cuisine. On the other hand, if the waiters are very friendly, the owner was very unpleasant when paying the bill. Pay attention to the price per kilo of fish!

The food is not necessarily better than in other places in Madeira, but for sure it is a lot more expensive. The portions are small compared to what other restaurants offer.
We were sitting outside and next to our table there was this person (maybe the manager or the owner, as he wasn't serving the tables and would give instructions to the staff) who would loudly approach every person and invite them to eat there.
When you are sitting there and have to listen to the same speech all over it's just annoying. He managed to bring some new clients, but he also managed to provide an unpleasant experience to the clients that he already had.
The service was great, our waiter was very efficient and friendly.

Restaurant with poor value for money compared to others in the city.
120 euros for grilled fish and vegetables, and 2 glasses of wine.
There is much better in Funchal.
Too bad because the servers are nice.

Food was tasty. Portions rather large. Paela for 2 is more like for 3 people.

Ate a grill plate for two people, meat was dry, vegetables didn't taste like anything, fries were too soft on the inside.
We paid €42 per person for this.

Very pushy waitress who does not want to listen to your wishes. She mainly wants to sell her stock of fish by pushingly and disrespectfully offering overpriced fish on a tray. Not all fish are equally tastefully prepared and served.

All in all, our visit to this restaurant was okay. Prices and ambience appropriate to the location. Service was nice and quick, the food was tasty, although not exceptional.

Quite disappointed. We went there because the reviews are really good, which I can not relate to. The restaurant looks nice and the service is very good. Unfortunately, we had drunk brits sitting next to us. We had white sangria (good), tagliatelle with shrimp (the sauce tasted exactly like in the asian cup noodles, really artificial and not freshly made, and only 3 prawns on my plate), and Espetada with fries (beef was good, but fries were raw inside). Also quite expensive for this bad quality. I definitely would not recommend, there are far better options in a small area around.

The service was excellent. The problem is the quality of food. The octopus was virtually swimming in oil and the texture was soft and soggy. The filet of beef was not tender, quite grey and pale indicating that it had been frozen. The good restaurants are no longer to be found in this area, the Old Town. It’s very touristy and tacky. If you like people watching , this is the place for you. If you like quality food, go elsewhere!
