Have dinner twice. Delicious. We always arrived at 5:45-50 pm and so we always had a seat. People who arrived at 6pm had no room left. Highly recommended to eat here.

Restaurante Informal serves some of the most tasty and delicious food I've come across in Funchal, and the charming and cozy atmosphere just adds to the experience. We've gone through most of their menu during our stay on Madeira in February, and along with some amazing hiking experiences, the food from Informal is still being brought up as one of the highlights of our visit!

On the site it says that reservations are not possible and that you have to come and wait. When we arrived we were turned away without any kindness because we were not on the list!!! what list? no explanation, no word of apology. It's rare that I complain but frankly the guy is really odious. It’s probably good, we won’t know since we’ll never come back.
One of the best places in Funchal to spend time with friends over lunch or dinner. Innovative dishes, always fresh, with authentic flavor. A corner in the streets of the city of Funchal that is completely fascinating due to the quality of its cuisine, service and of course the high quality of its dishes.

We were eager to try this restaurant due to its convenient location. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, including time spent waiting with my injured wife in her wheelchair, we were turned away due to a lack of space. Despite offering to pay for additional seating to accommodate my wife's wheelchair, our request was denied.
To add insult to injury, we were charged a hefty 50% surcharge on our final bill. Given the circumstances, this is completely unacceptable. While the restaurant's ambiance may be appealing to some, the poor service and discriminatory treatment towards those with disabilities overshadow any positive aspects.
I would strongly advise potential customers to reconsider their choice.

We wanted to have a table on the terrace, but the place was full. The waiter offered us a table inside in front of the open kitchen. And what a great decision was it to take. You can watch all the cooks and the chef making the dishes. And the dishes are really something. This is literally the place where You can pick anything from the menu, because every dish is planned precisely and have a little twist. Nothing happens coincidentally on the plates. The tastes are fine dining but neither the prices nor the portions and the vibe are. The chef is adorable and all the other guys are very nice. Definitely a must try in Funchal if You love the food and to eat.
