The staff were very friendly. We had Madeira wine as a compliment on the house, which was nice. The pepper steak and the clams were very good. The salmon fillet was nothing special. The tiramisu was quite a disappointment
Tourist restaurant, the service is not really friendly, we are kicked out even though we have not finished. The food is OK, nothing more, without too much taste. This helps but there are better local restaurants nearby.

The 3 course menus are inexpensive and you have a lot of great options. The food while good is not best in class. We still visited 3 times during our stay and will come back when we come back to Madeira.
