we've been to madeira many times but for some reason always avoided this place. how wrong were we! we had a lovely meal, lots of fresh veg (a rarity here!) and enjoyed everything. the welcome, ambience, food, and the price was very good for what we had. another lovely thing was lots of different tables started chatting to each other - very sociable. The staff are all very welcoming. we're going back!

A great place for dinner. Try to reserve a table as it is so popular.The service is first class.The food well presented.Definitely worth the wait.And.. Does not cost the earth. ?
Cottage pie was a little bland, chips were overcooked, strange taste, fish was lovely and so was the vegetables. The service was goodWill return and try other food

Good value set menu options. Gluten free but available for all. 23euros for 3 courses plus a sorbet and including wine. Good veg accompaniment and served on very hot plates. Was busy with lots of regular older British clientele who like to dress for dinner. Suspect service may have got slower the busier it got. we went early without booking while walking back from town and felt a little out of place. But lovely staff and good food. Will go again when in the area.

Food exceptional (my partner had smoked salmon (gluten free) I had duck breast with lovely selection of vegetables). Deserts were mango sorbet and lemon marangue. Staff very friendly. The only problem can be when restaurant is busy (quite usual as food quality is so good) service can be slow due to staff numbers.
