Last Monday we were traveling in Funchal and at some point we got hungry. We found the Trigal somewhat hidden and were kindly invited in. For its location in the middle of the city, it was remarkably quiet and the two waiters were very friendly and willing to provide information. Our food was delicious and quite cheap. The decision to eat there was the right one.

I went for dinner with my partner and it was a fantastic experience, so much so that we even repeated it. Very good food (and well prepared), more than affordable prices, and very attentive staff. If you want to try quality Madeira gastronomy, this is the place. Totally recommended!

Excellent restaurant, traditional cuisine is very well prepared The servers are very friendly and do everything to make your meal enjoyable. The terrace is very beautiful and quiet, despite the passage in the street To finish, we are introduced to a Madeira wine as a digestive, delicious!
Whilst we had a lovely meal at this restaurant and the service was good, we were not happy on the final bill. We had booked the table that day, via an internet web site that offered a nice discount, but when the bill came no discount was given (just an excuse by the owner that they had stopped that service two weeks ago - they didn’t say that when we arrived, nor did the excuse that they had cut their prices recently hold water as the preprinted menus were pretty old). So what was a nice meal was spoiled by the awkward situation at the end.
