This place was recommended by a food tour guide and she was spot on with the recommendation (ty Mara). This restaurant provides a good reprieve from usual traditional Portuguese restaurants. The steak was so flavourful and cooked to perfection. We ordered half doses of the sides dishes migas and bean rice and they were huge!!! We were so glad we didn't get a full order. For 3 people we had the steak and codfish and 2 half doses of side dish and we still had lots of leftovers,...
Confirming other's comments, food superb, value amazing, staff and ambience very good. Food is mostly meat though the side dishes are meals in themselves. For obvious reasons, this place is popular, mainly with locals as it is a little out of the centre. If you dont book, get there early on a quiet night or you will be disappointed (as clearly some reviewers have been!)
Our accomodation location meant we passed this restaurant every time we walked in or back from the centre. Intrigued we ate here on our last night. We had seen it was often full so arrived at opening time to make sure.
