We were passing through the little street seeking somewhere to eat and were somehow persuaded to stop at this place by the elderly gentleman even though this place likely wouldn't be our first choice.

I don't think the reviews here are fair. Of course, it's a tourist restaurant. Everything is, as far as I can experience, above board.They don't take credit cards, not alot of the small family type restaurants do.The food we received was lovely. The service was pleasant and multilingual. There were some locals visiting this place, which I always take as a positive sign.Thanks for a delightful lunch.
