“Definitely worth a visit”

Great menu with special dishes. In any case, we enjoyed everything very much. We had reservations, which was necessary. The restaurant is relatively small and very busy.

We would definitely come here again.

This restaurant was a bit disappointing in terms of food. According to my son, this was a typical Portuguese restaurant that had a good reputation. I liked the choice in food against falcons. If you like organ meat, I think you can enjoy it here, but I don't like that. To be honest, I hadn't looked at the menu in advance. My husband had kio, which had a good taste but was dry. I had a dish with cod fish fillet. That dish was cold (as perhaps it should be?) and there were still some bones in my fillet. However, the atmosphere was cozy and the waiter very friendly and kind. Was also interested where we came from. And he gave a good tip where you can drink good Ponchas, Bar 2.

Food and service were both amazing. We went back three or four times during our stay in Funchal because each dish was better than the next, and other places we tried just didn't match up. Authentic, high quality and served in a warm and friendly environment.

We didn’t have very high opinion of Portuguese food because we were disappointed in the part. But this place recommended by our local tour guide changed it completely. The food was simply fantastic!! Like our tour guide, our favourite was tuna belly and octopus. Together with a delicious Madeira wine, this was a memorable meal.

We went to this Taberna and I must say that we ate well, the place was slightly small but it had another floor, a simple entree with buttered bread and garlic, with olives (excellent bread) then I had 3 dishes, very good roasted mackerel, pork and clams, a typical dish but it didn't exalt much flavor of the clams, almost covered, and the tuna belly, delicious, excellent house wine, and I must say that we didn't even pay too much, recommended.

We ate octopus and chicken. The octopus was burnt and too spicy and chewy like rubber. His belly is just plain dry. Service was gone, although after 20 minutes they came to ask what they wanted, but there were many people, no problem. Beer and gin and tonic was good.

The waiter first explained to us that we should try ordering multiple shared dishes and then recommended us the only dish that is not shared, tuna stomach. It was more juicy than a normal tuna piece but nothing special.

Only when we asked for a bill, we were informed that their credit card terminal is broken, based on other reviews its been broken for over a month. This sounds like a tax evasion.
