The Next Hotel Recharge Bar & Restaurant offers vegan food with theire lunch menu. So you should be there between 12:00 - 18:30h. I had the vegan burger with fries. The price was okay, the taste was good but the consistence of the patty was a bit too soft, so it fell out of the buns... The beverage are quite expensive there... All in all okay.
Do not recommend this place. Don’t be mislead by the beautiful gardens on entrance. Service was atrocious. When got there, we were greeted by a very rude member of staff. We asked for a table and although there were many empty tables and only 2 taken up by people eating cheese and wine, they offered us the smallest table which was separated from all the others in the corner. If you go for the cheese and wine, all they offer is 3 crackers and 3 breadsticks and 3 pieces of each cheese between 4 people. The quality of the wine was poor. Then it took 30 minutes for someone to ask us what non alcoholic drinks we would like. After ordering them, it took another 20 minutes for our drink to come. I would never go back to this place and would not recommend it to anyone.

The food was lovely, but the service was chaotic. It took too long to get menus and our order taken. None of the staff seemed to know the table numbers, they were wandering around with dishes to tables that hadn't ordered them, then back to the desk then to the correct table. When our mains were cleared we waited for someone to return with the dessert menu, which they didn't, eventually we had to ask for the menu. We ordered dessert, coffee and the bill. The dessert arrived, delicious, but no coffees or bill. We asked someone for the coffees but still didn't arrive, took a third person to get the coffee and bill. The bill arrived with a 20% service charge already added, I didn't want to leave the tip but my wife insisted, we wouldn't recomend it.

It’s not possible to get a table without a reservation, even though the restaurant doesn’t look full. However, the food and wine were great, and the service was attentive. It was the priciest meal of our vacation, but you get the experience of dining in a beautiful garden.

What was supposed to be a nice, pleasant evening unfortunately turned out to be a disappointment.
At the beginning we were warmly welcomed and shown to the table. (Reserved in advance) The ambience is very nice and in general the “garden” is nicely decorated and looks very inviting.
After about 5-10 minutes the waiter took our order and we quickly received our ordered drinks and the appetizer plate.
The main course followed, unfortunately the steak we ordered arrived lukewarm instead of hot, but it still tasted good and was nicely prepared.
When we finished eating, the plates were quickly cleared away.
Afterwards we had already chosen a dessert and hoped to be able to give it to the waitress as soon as possible. Since there was a lot of activity due to the Portugal game, we had already accepted that it might take a little longer. After a full 40 minutes on the dry (drinks were long since empty) and several waitresses looking at us and occasionally smiling in a friendly manner, nothing happened. The tables to our left and right continued to be served regularly. In general, however, some employees appeared rather distracted and walked aimlessly and lost through the restaurant.
For me and my companion, this was the first and last experience in this restaurant.

Very hospitable reception. Personal attention and very polite and neat service. Food was delicious, steak Portuguese style... nothing to complain about. Would love to go again.

We had booked a table and was shown to our table. From then on it went down hill. We waited half an hour we had been given water but offered no drink or food menu in the end we asked a waiter for one. The maitre d took our order after another wait. The food arrived and was nice but luke warm. A long while after finishing our plates were removed but we were not offered a dessert menu or any more drinks. After a long while the restaurant manager came and asked if we we satisfied which we replied no and gave a resume of our experience. He offered us a free dessert but at this point we just wanted to leave so we paid the bill and left. We were so looking forward to dining here it is a beautiful space but the service was atrocious and left us extremely disappointed. I also notice they only comment on the reasonable reviews not the adverse ones.

A disappointing experience! The setting is beautiful but service leaves much to be desired! This restaurant is part of the Savoy hotel where service is excellent. We arrived without a reservation and after much discussion they agreed to seat us, the restaurant was empty and the soccer game was playing on a large tv! Orders are taken by the Chef - who is actually maître d. She appeared quite flustered when in fact there are at least 4 other waiters/ bus boys around. One wonders if they are not trusted to take orders. Not sure what their function actually is as they don’t replenish water or wine glasses, we did that ourselves. We had ordered catalplana which was served between our two plates and the rest left in serving dish. No one came to ask if we wanted more. The waiter just asked if he could take our plates. We ended up leaving never being offered desert or coffee. The food is good but the lack of service tarnished the whole experience!

Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio here is only partially correct. We made a reservation online at lunchtime and received a confirmation immediately. We arrived on site at 9 p.m. in the evening. The first problem arose at the entrance. No reception, no signpost. After we went into the garden to see who we could contact, 6-8 waitresses came to meet us. Unfortunately we weren't noticed at all. So we started looking for a contact person. After about 5 minutes we happened to walk up a flight of stairs behind the house and found a reception. Here you want clear signage or at least someone in the entrance area to welcome you.
The lady at reception didn't know about any reservations. They simply hadn't been registered.
After I showed the lady my online reservation, it was subsequently entered manually and we were put off waiting because the service and the table were not yet ready.
We were recommended to go downstairs to the bar to have a drink.
Unfortunately there was no one in the bar who could offer us a drink.
So we went to a very nice and cozy bar opposite and had our drinks here.
After 30 minutes we returned to the restaurant. The lady shows us two table variants, both of which are only indoors.
To put it briefly, the food was nothing special. The tuna on the menu was out, I got zander instead. The steak was ordered medium rare and delivered dry. Not edible. The gnocchi weren't cooked through and the sauce tasted bland.
No recommendation from us.

The food was of a good standard but the restaurant let itself down with the most appalling service. It was slow and disengaged. We had to ask for menus and water. We had to chase for our drinks and then again when our bill didn’t arrive - the staff were in a little huddle chatting and not one was moving around the table seeing if customers needed anything. They need to sort themselves out.

We ate at Terreiro twice.
The ambience is very nice.
The cocktails and sangria are very tasty.
The grilled squid with kimuchi is outstanding. The bread variation is very tasty and the cod fritter is highly recommended.
Now let's get to the not-so-nice things:
The first evening my wife had the chicken with chili. It was a little dry, but otherwise good. The service was good.
On the second visit, our last evening on the island, the problem was right from the start.
First we had to wait a really long time before we could order, about 15 minutes.
The appetizers came before the drinks.
The empty plates remained on our table for a very long time, waiters somehow didn't see our table even though we were sitting in everyone's direct line of sight.
The main course, shrimp rice, felt like a long time coming, about 45 minutes.
For €46 you get a total of 4 shrimps and the rice, which is prepared similarly to risotto. It's tough considering the price, it's a dish that you can only order for 2 people, everyone gets 2 shrimp...
Unfortunately we didn't like it at all. The prawns were good, but the rice was somehow very strange. The funny thing was that my wife and I both didn't like it, really not at all.
We ate the shrimp and wanted to pay.
The waiter cleared the room and asked if we didn't like it, which we confirmed. He then sent the manager/chief.
He topped it all off.
First he asked if we wanted something else or a treat on the house. We combined both. We wanted to pay and leave. He then started saying that he couldn't understand it. He's been selling seafood and fish all evening and so far no one has complained. Maybe the sangria would be too sweet for the dish...
Such a bushit!!!
That is not how it works!!!
Simply offer a swap dish or dessert, apologize that we didn't like it and then shut up!!!
But not like that!
So one evening was good, not great, but good.
Second evening was an absolute failure.
Test it out yourself. But there are plenty of other shops in the immediate vicinity that are also very good.
Wheelchair accessibility: Not feasible, lots of steps. There are also several steps in the restaurant.

I do not understand the negative comments as we have eaten at the restaurant on a number of occasions and have never had a problem with service, food and friendliness of staff. Highly recommend to anyone who wants good food in a restaurant where service and food are a priority

4 Apr 2024I’ve given 1 star because I can’t give 0 stars this is a review for the service we received at the beginning and for what happened at the end of our stay at the Savoy Palace.I won’t go into what happened at the beginning that was discussed with Joana Franca. What I’m more bothered about is what happened at the end of our stay. What happened could’ve resulted in a much more serious injury due to the collapsed restaurant chair (photos attached) all I did was pull my chair in closer to the table. Hotel director says these things happen, no they don’t not in the hotels I stay in and that’s five stars all the time and never has it ever happened to myself or have I seen it happen to anyone else until that night when there could’ve been another collapsed chair.I also noticed another guest sat nearby asked for her chair of the same design to be changed please speak to your staff about this guest she didn’t even see my chair collapse she arrived after the event. There was a couple who witnessed my fall from the collapsed chair.I did not receive an apology from the General Manager. After the chair incident one of your waiters said I can’t look at you as I want to laugh how rude you do not at any time speak to guest in this manner, would they have laughed if I had broken a bone etc I had to laugh it off but for a five star hotel this is diabolical. On another note drinking glasses not washed or new ones given my lipstick was still on the glass and this is after my room was cleaned, toilet in our room seemed to smell, dirty marks on the wall near the patio door.Rude staff one thought it funny how I had my coffee and had pleasure in saying so at least three times when having breakfast again very rude it’s not acceptable. We also didn’t see any life guards near the pool unless the guys that give out the towels are life guards.Locked out of our room at 11:20 even though we had someone collecting our bags at 11:30 plus it is 12 noon when you have to vacate. My husband had to go to reception to have the key reset. This was our second trip to Madeira 1st at this hotel.
