Good location, good views of Funchal. With terrace. Regarding food, said tooth was missing and the man didn't want to give it. I didn't ask either, it's true. But the tooth is part of us Madeiran people and what makes us stand out from other places. Please don't lose this habit.

Excellent cafe/bar. My wife and I had just completed the basket cart ride and decided to walk back down into Funchal. We hadn't walked that far down when we saw a sign saying that this place was 100 meters to the right. We had delicious coffee and a refreshing beer. The price was excellent too. Even better was the number 27 bus into Funchal stopped right outside, which we caught back into town after we were finished.

Used this place most days as it was near our hotel and the 27 bus stop so nice for a cold beer when coming back up from the city. Had evening meal here twice. First time grilled limpets to start and chicken picado to share both excellent. Second time we were gutted that there were no limpets available but we had the beef picado for 2 and that was even more tasty than the chicken one. Fantastic view of the city from the terrace, friendly staff, cold beer and tasty food. Highly recommended

Not far from the wicker sled terminal, this little restaurant/bar is perfect for taking a break before starting again.

We stopped in this place just for beer but when we went to this tiny pub smell of some lovely food convinced us to order something to eat. The owner of this place made for us a "Special grilled sandwich" (Prego)
Oh my gosh!! What a taste!! This sandwich was full of everything: steak, fried egg, ham, chees and garlic ?
Two beers and two sandwiches cost us €20. I think it's a fair price ??

We spent our first evening in Madeira here because it was Sunday and everything around was closed. What a surprise it was when we ordered food, pork knuckles and bolo de caco were famous!???

The food is plentiful, especially chopped chicken and beef, 1 portion is enough for 2 people to eat. Fair prices. The service was also great, the only minus or plus is the very bar atmosphere. I recommend
