If you want to try their geothermally cooked food - you MUST book in advance. As all the reviews have mentioned - the portions are HUGE - one dish can easily serve two people, or even three - no matter how good you think you are at eating! The food is very good quality overall and the premium prices reflect the taste and portions. We visited in early August - so it was very busy at lunch time. Might be a bit quieter away from the holiday season.

We arrived 10 minutes late and that was enough to sell one of our reserved stews (24 hours in advance) to another table. Even though the stew was good and the quantity was generous (there were 3 of us with a single stew) we thought the attention we received from the workers was terrible (they talked to us badly, they treated us with reluctance and made us wait more than twenty minutes For the bill). If I had to try it again I wouldn't repeat it here.

Ce repas a bien commencé, nous avons pris le fameux Cozido très copieux, suffisant pour 2 adultes, nous avons vraiment aimé ce mélange de viande et de légumes.

Pour le dessert je choisis l'ananas grillé avec une boule de glace , à 8 euros je m'attendais à mieux que 4 Petit bouts d'ananas et une boule de glace, très bon mais trop cher .

Mais ce qui justifie 1 étoiles et le principe commercial où l'on amène un autre desserts (Queijada) en attendant que celui commandé (l'ananas) soit prêt car il y a un peu de temps de préparation , le serveur me dit en anglais comme ça je goûte à tout , alors je trouve ça commerçant comprenant que celui-ci était offert.
Mais non au moment de l'addition on me compte bien ce Queijada en plus de mon dessert ananas.

J'ai beau dire que je n'ai pas commandé ce dessert, on me répond que je 'ai mangé. J'appelle ça de la vente forcée c'est pas honnête comme pratique.
De plus c'était un plus mauvais Queijada de l'île .

Autre point négatif, la réservation, nous avons dû passer faire la réservation au restaurant directement, car nous n'avons jamais réussi à les avoir au téléphone, ni aucune réponse au formulaire de réservation ni au mail envoyé

Dommage pour cette adresse qui a pourtant bonne réputation, veiller à vérifier vos additions.

Good quality at a good price. Too many vegetables in the typical volcanic stew. The two portions were enough to share for 4 people and other dishes to try. The scum, delicious. It took us about 45 minutes to be served even though we had reserved.

If you want to eat a good geothermal "cocido", this is the recommended restaurant. Good food, good service and good value for money. Remember to make the reservation at least 24 hours in advance.

We loved from the first moment that we were able to book from the website without needing to call. We think it's an incredible place to go and try traditional stew. We were also lucky that we had a very friendly and pleasant waiter.

We took the stew, which must be reserved a day before. They have vegetarian and meat options. The quantity is abundant and we only have that for dinner. The preparation that we were able to observe in the boilers of Lake Furnas is very curious. Adequate price quality.

Nice meal. We ate Cozido das Furnas, unique one-off experience. There was an abundance of food (we couldn't finish a 2-person portion with 3 of us). The risotto is highly recommended as well as the garlic bread. Cozy place with terrace too!!

Food was outstanding, we had some steak dishes, some appetizers and dessert and they were all fantastic. Service is great, and there's a great view from the back patio. highly recommend
