We were in Furnas and we were looking for traditional portuguese food and here they had vegan morcela con ananas (vegan blood sausage with pineapple)! I had made my research on traditional azorean food and I thought it would be impossible to try this dish, and this restaurant was the only place in Sao Miguel and in Terceira, that had it. It was nice, the pineapple was really juicy! And then we had some burgers which were nice but not amazing haha The waiter was REALLY sweet and friendly!
My wife and I are vegetarian, and stopped into Espinha.come for dinner. We shared the Feta salad, local cheeseboard and jam, and pineapple sandwich. The food was incredible and so fresh. The highlight was the pineapple sandwich which was vegan. This place is fantastic for vegetarians, and has decent vegan options too.
Server told us neither of the bread options are vegan. Therefore remaining choice is salad, a vegan blood sausage, or fries. Sausage was interesting. Also, no plant milk for coffee. Perhaps should have asked for chicken less chicken Pattie without the bread? Not a great option, but not a lot of choice in Furnas. Would bring sandwiches in car next time.
Very nice Lucalino in Furnas, good alternative for a simple lunch or dinner, excellent burger with egg and caramelized onions; average price for the area.

The restaurant has a few vegan options. I went for their vegan burger with fries. The burger was rather average. Note that ‘bolo levedo’ is not vegan. Typicaly, it contains eggs, milk and butter. Thus, make sure to pick bread instead of bolo levedo for your burger. I noticed in the reviews and photos here that some vegans had bolo levedo. Updated from previous review on 2024-08-05
Such a cute place and super tasty food.
We had Hamburger do Vale, Hamburger QBO and Hamburger americana.
We recommend.

A good starter (the grilled pineapple blood sausage), but the rest was ordinary.
Hamburger in Portuguese bread (bolo levedo) and fish fillets served breaded (medium breading). On the other hand, they offer Azores microbrewery beer rather than the traditional Superbock.
60 euros for a starter, two main courses and two beers is a bit expensive.
Vegetarian options: There was a vegan pudding option (???)
