We arrived at the place.
As we entered, we had a price list with the prices of the dishes available in the restaurant.
We sat down, ordered bread and a plate of cheese, 3 balls from yesterday and 6 slices of "cheese from the mountains" arrived.
We were informed later that there were only steaks with mushrooms and Alentejo-style pork.
We ordered 4 servings of Alentejo-style pork and a serving of steaks, after 30 minutes, 2 platters arrived that would easily be 1 serving each, pre-fried potatoes, meat and pickles, nothing special, the steaks were good.
Moving on to payment, Mr. António (owner) charged €67.50 for 5 people, something minimally acceptable.
Since the price of both Alentejo pork and steaks would be €10 each, juices and a 1.5l bottle of water at €1.50 each would be €57.50.
So I asked how much the 6 slices of mountain cheese and the 3 balls cost. The owner stopped, thought and then said that the cheese would be €8 and the bread €2.
I don't recommend it, if you're going to be robbed it's better to go to Cova da Moura.

We had a chanfana lunch which was excellent, which was enough for two people, accompanied by house white wine and salad and at the end, two desserts. The service was very friendly and the place is tavern style. It's not very spacious but there weren't many people, so we felt comfortable. A very pleasant experience.
But be careful, ask the prices before ordering to avoid any bad surprises.

Not a very pleasant experience, particularly related to the food, grilled steak with fried cockroach, neither rice nor salad. Thin and dry steak priced at 12.50eur, therefore an expensive dish for the quality, which we are used to eating in large cities. The icing on the cake was when it was time to pay the bill, as they placed a plate of cheese on the table, without having been informed of the price, so everyone thought it would be an acceptable price, for what we had eaten in other restaurants, but in In the end, it cost 12eur for a plate of cheese, so it only added approximately 120eur to the bill, which in my opinion, given the quality, was already expensive. Of our group of around 30 people, including several small children, the total bill was 19eur a head, including children under 8 years old. Unfortunately, in my opinion there was not much honesty, because the price of the cheese was excessively high, since compared to the other restaurants we visited in those days in Gois we are talking about an average price per head of double. For these reasons, unfortunately I won't be able to say good or bad, just warn future visitors and those responsible for the restaurant that this is not how to captivate customers with surprises, which is not for everyone's purse, it is for customers to pay more attention than us.

Heerlijk geit in rode wijn saus gegeten chanfana. Vooraf kaas met ham. Leuke vent en leuke sfeer. Voor Portugese begrippen wel aan de prijs.

I arrived back in Tavira this morning for my winter stay and wanted a light, but excellent lunch. I chose to go to Ti Maria, as I enjoyed it when I was here a year ago. It is still excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the seared tuna with a glass of white wine. Service was good - Not at all pushy or overbearing. The only drawback was the car which pulled up right beside me on the patio, less than a meter from my table, leaving the motor running for 8 minutes. It was not pleasant to breathe those fumes while enjoying lunch. It seems the woman was either delivering something to the restaurant or visiting one of the staff. It detracted from what would have been a 5 star experience.
Very poor. The staff not interested at all. Portion size has reduced, price gone UP. We live in tavira all year round, so we will NOT return. Very disappointing….
We ate here on our last visit to Tavira in 2021 and it was a highlight so eagerly returned. How disappointing. The waiter ignored us to the point that we almost left. We then ordered our food and drink. The food arrived quickly but we never got our drinks, which were added to the bill. The waiter didn’t apologise although obviously changed our bill but didn’t return for payment so we had to take it up to pay despite the restaurant being empty by this point. The food was ok, excellent tempura anchovies, the bruschetta though was more like a pizza. But really it was the poor service that put us off. Such a shame after such a lovely, friendly first visit.
Lovely food very poor service, seems like too much effort for waiters to come outside to serve you. Nicely decorated and could have a great ambience with the right staff who actually enjoy working with customers.
Small plates of delicious Portuguese tapas. Octopus tempura is delicious, as is the seared tuna. Extensive exploratory wine list. Desserts a bit limited but after more than you can eat and drink elsewhere on the menu who cares! Worth a visit.
