Restaurant with subdued light, the decor soothes. Overview of the kitchens which are glazed. The team in the dining room is very caring with also sommeliers. Beautiful presentation of the dishes: vegetarian options are possible. We had a great time. Good value for money.
(Translated by Google) What a desappointment. For years I have seen this address in the reference press. It was a dream to come there. My friends accompanied me. We had booked a table for 9 weeks ago. Coming from France, totally won over to the joy of an exceptional extended weekend. Relegated to a veranda, certainly quiet, we suffered from the drafts and the cold. The service was deplorable. For example the appetizers arrived after the starters. We had to place our orders 48 hours in advance because there were 9 of us. However, the service was incredibly long and poorly timed. Regarding the quality, there were very good plates but, for the majority of the main courses, it was well below our expectations: over-cooked fish, lack of seasoning, no garnish other than a few vegetables. No relief. We were incredibly disappointed, annoyed with the wait and the isolation. We did not feel welcome. Yet the greatest addresses in the world should be exemplary, humble, authentic places. Elegance is also due to the poetry of the atmosphere.
A must visit if you are in the area. The food is literally amazing, the staff and service were impeccable and the atmosphere is cosy and romantic. We loved it and went twice during our trip
Absolutely beautiful place. The ambience is just perfect for relaxed dinner and drinks. We started with cocktails on the terrace and then moved inside for dinner. All the staff were super nice and understood the offer and menu. Nice open plan kitchen to look into with "cool" looking/dressed chefs.... expectations were high... unfortunately the food didn't quite live up to that. Whilst beautifully presented and clearly some understanding of some great techniques the dishes didn't quite come together as they should have. Some, not all dishes just missed that final element to make them great. At times I wondered if anyone of the "cool" chefs actually tasted the food before sending it out. Our fish starters for example, looked beautiful, but tasted dull...needed acidity to bring it to life. My wife had the pork which was cooked perfectly but overall very salty. I had the steak which again was perfectly cooked...I ordered it with sauce Portuguese...which I can only describe as dishwater! I still can't get over how something like this could have been served. Watery and totally devoid of any flavour. Shame. Dessert was great though?? Wine was great and so was the service. If you want to be the best in the area and look cool....you got to get the small details right! The food at the Sublime beach club was much better.

We had food in the Sublime Comporta bar on our first of two nights, which presumably came from Sem Porta, and which was truly awful. The lobster roll was inedible with a tremendously off-putting, very un-lobster-like flavor. When we told the server it was inedible he said there was really nothing wrong with it, they order it in pre-prepared, and that’s how it comes (as if that was supposed to make the situation better). We replaced it with the chicken club which was almost as bad. Needless to say, our meal the next night was off property, in Grandola. To be fair the breakfast buffet was excellent on both mornings.
Hotel is AMAZING!! Everything is good. Unfortunately I ordered the lobster risotto and felt very sick. I didn't love the appetizer, the vegetarian ceviche, had lack of flavor. The dessert was extremely sweet.

An addition to my earlier reviews…..Sem Porta remains as always: discrete, understated, below the radar, relatively remote which is probably exactly as they wish. It’s part of the Sublime Comporta exclusive country retreat but the restaurant is bookable by non-residents (like us). We try to come once or twice a year. Great staff and service, a beautiful menu with daily specials and a wine list to die for. Amazing sommeliers. The chef is on the top of his game, with a great kitchen team. Fine local produce, meat and fish. Quality and attention to detail is spot on. Highly recommended….
