While vacationing in Quarteira we came across this restaurant off a side street. Really happy we did. My husband and I had a pitcher of Sangria which was excellent. My brother & I had swordfish with lemon and capers which was cooked perfectly and very tasty. My husband and sister-in-law had beef kabobs which were tender and juicy. Cappuccinos and espresso martini's finished the meal perfectly. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

Been visiting this restaurant for several years now. Have just returned home after a 7 day holiday and ate at the Girassol 3 times. As in previous years the quality of the food and the service was excellent. I’ve visited numerous eateries in Quarteira and in my experience the Girassol has been consistently the best. Personal reviews are always subjective, so this is just my experience, but based on that I would recommend a visit. It’s quietly situated one street back from the sea front and well worth searching out.

Comedy of errors !! Went here Tuesday night, not overly busy, drinks came quickly but the starters took over 30 minutes to arrive ( my wife had bread and I had garlic bread) I even had to go and ask where they were !! I asked for the Garlic bread what without cheese and it came with cheese !! I find it quite sickly with cheese, staff had vanished so eat what I could but half way through the main courses arrived!! I asked for steak medium to well done but it was still bleeding blood when I cut it !! Miraculously the staff had vanished again so I eat what I could but it was chewy and tasteless, only when we had nearly finished the waitress came over and asked if everything was okay, told her my disappointment and t she said ‘would you like it cooked some more’. !! Really need to get their act together!! My wife’s Piri piri chicken was okay but was only 3 small thighs !!

Visited twice with my family and was really impressed. The food was a very good standard. The octopus and sweet potatoes was particularly nice. The service was also very good and both the food and drinks were reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend to others.

We had dinner here on one evening during our stay in Quarteira. The restaurant is located just off the promenade in Quarteira. Although the food was good I thought it was a little overpriced in comparison to other restaurants we visited during our stay. It is very clean and well maintained with seating both inside and outside.

Very welcoming atmosphere, really good food every time and staff was friendly - highly recommend ❤️ Ate here almost every day during one month visit in Quarteira in April, one of our favorites was Piri Piri chicken (medium hot or hot), pork schnitzel, fish dishes, lamb and to mention - I ate the best vegetable lasagne ever!! Day specials were really good and good options, good lunch tip! Always big portions. Thank you girassol staff and espesially Maria & Henrik for lovely lunch/dinner visits!

Great varied menu. Very tasty food. Been there twice for dinner. Sat outside on the plaza both times. 1st time for a full dinner, 2nd time just small plates. All delicious. Highly recommend!

Back I'm our happy place Quarteira,our favourite restaurant Girassol comes highly recommended whether it's dinner lunch or a snack everything cooked to perfection All staff are welcoming so friendly and attentive can't praise it highly enough,access up stairs from prom.

Wonderful meal. Chickpea salad needs to be a part of their menu, not just a special. It was excellent, as was the swordfish steak. My wife’s spinach and cheese omelette was great. Very good wait staff as well. We have returned for lunch and it was very good too.
