My children and I recently moved to the Algarve, I wanted to create roots where we live and expose them to our local culture, and so one of the things we started doing was going to Restaurante Nunes. The first few times I went with my mother and some friends everything was perfect. Unfortunately, things haven't been very good since then, there has been a steady decline in both the quality of service, or lack thereof, and the food served. This used to be one of the best chicken dining experiences I've ever had and now I can't endorse it. For my son's birthday I specially ordered Nunes' dinner, at his request, he was very excited to have Nunes for his birthday, and it was one of the worst meals we ate that year. I tried to explain that I was upset about what happened to a waiter, and I was insulted in front of my son for not being able to reappear on Google. I am a respected member of the community and was going to support Nunes publicly, but now I find myself telling friends and family not to come back as standards have dropped to an unacceptable level. The way I was treated in front of my son was unforgivable. The lack of quality in food and service is unacceptable, there are basic health code standards that I believe are not being met. I feel nothing but sadness for Nunes, their future is bleak when you alienate your local customer base for no apparent reason who live here year round. After making my children wait over an hour to eat when you served other customers without the same wait time, it was disgraceful to the staff and management to allow this to continue. Be warned that you are not the only one who knows how to cook piri-piri chicken and has land north of Guia, suffice it to say.

Small, nice restaurant, without a special atmosphere. But we came for the food. We ordered Frango da Guia. We have already tested almost all the restaurants in the area that offer Frango da Guia. And we can say that THE Frango here was by far the tastiest! And at a very reasonable price!The welcome was warm and very friendly. Despite the restaurant being packed, the employees always had a smile on their faces. A kindness that you don't often experience when there is stress.The restaurant is unconditionally more than recommended.
