Thanks to Tripadvisor, we quickly found what we were looking for in our search for a vegetarian restaurant. We chose Restaurante 34, less than a two-minute walk from our GuimaGold apartment. What can I say, it really blew us away. As a rule, we both don't approach the matter with too many expectations, as there are hardly any alcohol-free alternatives and vegetarian options in the region where we live in Portugal. When we arrive at Restaurante 34, we are greeted very friendly and courteously and were happy from the first moment. We ordered an aperitif without alcohol. The waiter asked if we wanted to be surprised and served us a wonderful aperitif that perfectly matched the summer evening atmosphere. The temperatures were unbearably hot during the day and it was slowly cooling down a little. We were served an aperitif made of lime, beaten egg whites, lemon and mint and could hardly believe our luck. The perfect drink to kick off our vacation. The three vegetarian starters, consisting of gyosa, tacos and mushrooms, served hot and spicy in a small cast iron pan, were absolutely amazing. Every single dish is indescribably good, cooked and served to the point and with great attention to detail. For the main course we had a ceviche and a vegetarian curry. The two main courses were also delicious and there was also a non-alcoholic mojito and a non-alcoholic peach and passion fruit cocktail. Here too you can tell that it is created with a lot of love and passion. Not a watery, quickly brewed drink, but a cocktail with different flavor components and anything but boring.
The visit to Restaurante 34 was more than worth it, also thanks to the very attentive, very friendly service.

Based on the excellent reviews, I tried to get a table for lunch. That worked and we got the most beautiful table in front of the window! We had the whole range of starters as tapas and enjoyed every bite. In addition, excellent service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Striking: we were the only tourists in the restaurant.
