“Without a doubt the best barbecue chicken I've ever eaten. The sublime art of grilling, the seasoning of the meat and the choice of the best charcoal give the chicken an unparalleled flavor and succulence.Added to this is the friendliness and excellent service of the owners.Strongly recommends.“

“The site is simply fantastic! The food is good, the service... hmm ok we were a group, maybe that's why it wasn't perfect! In fact, I don’t recommend it at all for groups!! But a group of 4 and then a little walk to the waterfalls wow ? top! Group menus are very expensive and the kitchen does not have the capacity to handle very large groups!!!“

Everything was very good, from the preparation to the perfect combinations of ingredients.

“It is the best place to eat and dine in Sintra. Traditional and homemade food. Professional, attentive and close service. The price is affordable and they make you feel at home. Without a doubt if we return to Sintra we will repeat for sure.“

“The food was good, the plates were quite filling, the prices were consistent with what was served and the location and the attentive and friendly staff but I want to make special mention that a client came with his dog and as soon as he sat down they immediately gave him water and even gave him water. They gave a prize. They were attentive and loving even with the dog and for me it is something super important. The place is spacious and has a terrace but it fills up quickly.
Parking: It's crazy to take the car to Sintra
Wheelchair accessibility: Sintra itself is a place that is not very accessible due to the number of slopes you encounter along the way.“

“Great little place. So glad we stopped by after long day of walking in Sintra. Everything on the main square was so busy and we just wanted to be able to get away a little from it. Walked up the stairs a found this gem
Food was delicious. Tuna steak and octopus dinner both grilled to perfection.
If you are in Sintra , stop by.“

“A nice restaurant with friendly enough staff. We had a little hiccup with the appetisers so the staff acted a little less friendly to us…
The food was delicious, we ordered picanha with beans, rice, chips and salad. Also a big sparking sangria.“

“The caipirinhas (normal and red fruits) were very good.
I recommend Prim’s Noble Steak, the cooking that I requested was respected and the sauce was super good.
The grilled octopus was very tender and the spinach was cooked so that even for someone who doesn't like spinach it was still good.
The servers were very nice and smiling.“

“Zo lekker gegeten hier. We hadden een stukje vlees met champignon roomsaus en ham, verrukkelijk. Alle andere dingen op de kaart klonken ook lekker. Voor de rest heeft het binnen wat meer sfeer dan buiten, maar heeft ons niet tegen gehouden om buiten te zitten.“

“Service of ten, especially from the manager/owner. We ate very good quantity and quality and affordable price. It has many tables and is open all day, so you don't even need to reserve, you go and they find a place for you. Totally recommended.“

“I would absolutely recommend this place. Great portions, calm and traditional atmosphere, welcoming and attentive staff, and great prices! This is not a tourist trap. It stays on our map :))
Recommending the Bacalhao com natas and their red wine.“

“Very, very delicious food and generous dishes. I ate the piece of beef and it was very good. I only have one drawback, and that is that they give you without asking an appetizer that consists of cheese, bread, olives, and ham and they charge you almost €10 for it. Why are you charging me for something I don't want and haven't asked for?…those things bother me a lot“

“Homemade food. Very affordable daily dishes. Soup of the day, dish, dessert and drink approximately 12 euros per person. Restaurant with different decor with antique crockery.
We ordered some broken eggs as a starter.
The dish of the day, soup and cod with cornbread.
For dessert, a salted caramel mousse (you can share it, because it's quite sweet, but super greedy)
Parking: Private parking on site, free of charge.“

“Dined here on the strength of other reviews. Did not disappoint.Ordered the mussels to start and the grilled salmon for main. Tho the mussels were done straight up, tasted bland when a little seasoning or flare could of been added to make them tastier. However the salmon was cooked to perfection. Really tasty crispy skin and the meat was done perfectly.Highly recommend.“

“For those who are in Sintra and want to have lunch in a typical restaurant with homemade food and family service, Solar Saloio is the recommended choice. To start, there was Mafra Bread, tasty Olives and a Dry Cheese. For main I ordered the Stewed Veal with French Fries and Rice. The meat was from the Aba area and as such it was a tasty and tender meat that fell apart with each bite, it was accompanied by good rice and homemade French fries, it also came with a well served mixed salad. I accompanied the meal with a great House Red Wine and finished with a Homemade Serradura. Friendly, familiar service and prices around €15 per person. I recommend!“

“In an surprising place on the national Loures road with a very humble facade, you find very tasty traditional food with good sized servings at fair prices. The service is naturally friendly and the real treat is the wine list with extraordinary wines at rare excellent prices! You can feel the 40 years of restaurant history in all ways, and the twist of quality and presentation due to the homecoming of a second generation son. We were lucky to have smiling Patricia caring for us while we enjoyed fried squid, arroz de robalo, bitoques, mousse of dark chocolate, baba, creme brulee, coffees, water and the most extraordinary 2022 Phenomena rosé by Quanta Terra Duriense, all together for only €115 for 3.“

“Outstanding food in a delightful setting and really good service. The value for money was also very good. We had a stunning Gorgonzola and pear risotto (????) and pork ribs with a lovely fresh salad and good hand cut fries. The house wine was really good. We will return next time we are in the area!“
“Pimentinha is located in Ericeira, more precisely in Largo de São Sebastião, and stands out for being a Self Service Restaurant with efficient service and homemade food. On this visit, I chose Codfish with Cornbread accompanied by Mashed Potatoes and Sautéed Vegetables. Cod was well prepared and tasty. As a starter, a very well stuffed Empada de Requeijão with Spinach, the meal was accompanied by mature white wine and ended with a homemade and tasty Rice Pudding. For those looking for a quick meal at more affordable prices in the village of Ericeira, Pimentinha is a good option.“

“We came here for lunch after visiting Pena Palace. It was a little out of the way, but ultimately meant it wasn't super busy or touristy which I appreciated! We tried the toast with goat cheese and honey, tempura octopus tentacles and black pork belly, and enjoyed all of it! There was only one outdoor table and it was quite hot inside (as well as outside) which was my only hesitation.“

“Restaurant in the heart of Sintra, the service was very friendly. We ordered pasteis de bacalhau as a starter which were good. We then had the porco alentejena which was excellent. The linguiça alheira is served with rice, thin fried potatoes and a green salad which unfortunately lacked seasoning which is a shame.
The value for money is however relatively correct, it is an address that will remain in my notebook for a future trip to Sintra!“

“From the place 5 stars but this last order placed with Uber this Saturday was on the public road and disappeared, they tried to contact me and my partner had the phone turned off. delivery method because this is a shame; they leave a photo with the bag on the public street and the message comes saying enjoy your order, what a shame

“Lovely restaurant tucked into a beautiful street in Colares, Portugal. Our dining companion had the tasty Shrimp soup and we had the fresh fish entrees. We had a wonderful leisurely lunch with wine and good companions. This spot has a serene vibe with beautiful food and scenery.“
“Clean, courteous, good service and food. The previous place I has been to was closed, though it was supposed to be open. This was the next place I could go to and being hot, sweaty, was great to just clean up a bit in their restroom and have a delicious cheese toast in their unique bread and cappuccino!“

“Sintra is rammed with tourists - even in October when we visited. Villa Craft Beer and Bread was like a sea of calm amidst the chaos. Just off the main street, we had a relaxed beer (my wife had Jasmin, I had Ginger) and delicious mini pizzas. Would definitely recommend. Updated from previous review on 2024-10-28“

“Yes, the suckling pig was very good, also for what it cost, it was just what was needed. Believe me, suckling pig is more expensive than seafood. Excellent service, restaurant very well organized, clean, with an impeccable parking lot. I recommend it, although next time I won't order the suckling pig with a golden thread as a side dish.“

“Server was really helpful. The menu wasn’t clear on what was gluten free had things listed as not having gluten that clearly had bread but when I asked she was very helpful and they made accommodations. Can make any of the piadina fillings into a salad basically for you. Nice atmosphere and good selection of drinks.

“It's very difficult to have everything good and sometimes it doesn't just depend on the restaurant, it depends on the diners. And today everything fell into place, basket with hot bread and cracklings already inside the bread, a person received like this even forgets to place the order. Then a menu that, after looking at it a lot, leaves you thinking that, well, well, you could order almost everything. I ended up placing myself in the "hands" of the lady who attended to me, with kindness and pure joy, and she chose for me, and the certainty and security with which she did so, without fear, is truly from someone who knows the excellent quality of the service for which She shows her face, there aren't many like that. Once again Mr. João, thank you very much for everything. More than knowing how to cook, it's being able to convey on the plate all the feelings that go into what you do. For you it was just another day, for me it was a discovery. Just two minutes of talking to you and if I hadn't had a sweet tooth I wouldn't need dessert anymore. We will definitely see each other more often, that's all I can tell you. Thanks.“

“If we return to Sintra, we will definitely repeat. Homemade food and very good service. The dishes are abundant and at a good price.
First we ordered the grelhado cheese which was very good. The house offers you starters at the table and if you don't want them you just have to tell them so they don't charge you for them. For the main course we ordered a bacalhau with cream and a maminha. The food was 10 and we were full. The attention is very close and very good even if we are tourists, they treat you as if you were one of the locals. They have made us feel very comfortable. My congratulations to the place for achieving such good results in Sintra, where most restaurants are expensive and offer poor quality.“

“Great restaurant conveniently located in the centre of Sintra. Staff are very attentive and professional. Food is well presented and well cooked with full of flavour. I would recommend both for a relaxed dinner as well as a romantic occasion. To be safe book ahead but when we went in, there were plenty of free tables, albeit it was an early dinner“

“The food was very tasty and we were full. But it would be cool if there was cheese on the vegetarian burger too. Otherwise the waitress (young lady with brown hair) was really nice and the food was brought quickly. If you're waiting for the train, I can recommend stopping by there :) Price-performance ratio is great.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian burger. Unfortunately it doesn't have cheese.“

“I had the most incredible lunch at Caricato. Greatly situated with views of Serra de Sintra and close to the beach, what makes this restaurant special is the truly remarkable food and wine offerings. The grilled squid was an absolute delight, bursting with flavor. To make it even more special, the staff is warm and helpful which made us feel right at home. The cooks are undeniably talented; every dish is a feast! Caricato is definitely my favourite restaurant in the area.“

“Great food and great service. Food is ready in a short time and you get to enjoy it in a really comfy area. The server that helped us was specially nice and made the experience better during our visit. I ordered the octupus and was impressed by the flavor and texture.

“I was in Sintra visiting the Pena Palace and the tour guides highly recommended Tulhas, especially if you're looking to try seafood rice and I was! The restaurant is small and tight, decorated with tiles and wood, located between the tourism office and San Martin Church. The seafood rice was good, filling and hearty, though I would recommend this dish only for fans of seafood.“

“I thought it was expensive for what you ate!
The prego was tasty.
The service was… bad from the young woman who served us, as she had little desire to help, “collaborate” and was not very responsive… and good from the rest of the team, always concerned with customer satisfaction, including funny jokes.
I recommend it, but for a “Tavern” it is expensive!
Parking: With no parking available on the street, you will have to park and get around on foot.“

“A highly recommended establishment. We arrived by chance,
without prior reservation and they immediately gave us a table.
Monica attended to us, from the first moment she won us over with her friendliness and charisma. When ordering, she made several recommendations, being very honest and attentive at all times. The broken eggs with their own recipe (they have spinach) are a delight and if you like sweets you can't miss the Farófias.

“It eats very well and is not expensive!!
The atmosphere isn't bad but it's more like a regular restaurant where a lot of people go but that doesn't mean it's a bad atmosphere... quite the opposite but taking into account the context it makes sense for 3 stars“
