One of those places where you wonder why the owners stay in the restaurant trade if they have so little fun and pride in doing what they‘re doing. There were very few places open on a Sunday night in January, so we were grateful to find something, but it was pretty depressing. We had the local meat stew in the hope that they couldn‘t do much wrong, and it was fine. But we were in and out in an hour. Maybe it‘s better in the summer, but otherwise only go here as a last resort.
Solid menu and great service, great atmosphere. The dishes are a bit small and may not always meet everyone's idea of a good match for the price tag but overall a great place to hang out, drink and eat
Very good meat and sardine cake.

Within 40 minutes we’ve had an apetizer and our main course finished, it was a race against the clock… We ordered a shrimp pasta with sun-dried tomatoes. The shrimps were all over-cooked and very dry. Not to mention that the intestines were NOT removed. Next to that we had 1! Small piece of sun-dried tomato in the whole pasta… When we mentioned this at the waiter, they told us the cook in the evening wasn’t the same as the one for lunch ? Big tourist trap!
Difficult to book ahead but a good restaurant choice. Menu good / wine menu good. Helpful staff. Good atmosphere. We liked it.
This place is simply the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. We had a reservation for 930 pm, got seated at 1030pm, without any apology whatsoever, and got our food past midnight…. No apology from the staff or the manager, and when I asked the manager for the discount on our bill, we got the most rude and cruel answer, to the extent that he said that we should not be there in the first place, that it was his own restaurant, and he did not care about any feedback. His random buddy intervened and called me an idiot for showing displeasure with the service. Absolutely ridiculous and horrendous place! Don’t waste your time and money!

On the recommendation of our guide, we had lunch here to try their local specialties. Our group of four adults shared a charcuterie board with dried pork sausages and cheeses from Terceira, São Jorge and Pico; Alcatra (braised beef in spices); fried hake; local Donatario white wine; and Dona Amelia cake (a cornmeal-based gingerbread). Everything was fantastic, especially the beef and the cake (both Terceira specialties).
Although this restaurant was packed when I arrived, they made space for me (as a solo diner), which is much appreciated. They allowed me to dine at my pace and made me a great gin and tonic. It was always easy to catch one of the friendly staff's eye to order when I wanted more food and glasses of wine, which were all very well priced. I don't really eat meat, but was persuaded to try their fillet mignon, as I haven't yet tried Azorean beef. Went in Rome and all that, and I was glad I did. Definitely worth a visit!

Definitely go to this fantastic restaurant right in the center of the action in Angra. Wines by the glass are very reasonably priced and quite good. The €24 fillet mignon is fantastic. The one I had was paired with garlic butter and a beautiful tomato salad. You can get some rock salt on the side. Definitely request what they call the boiled sweet potatoes instead of french fries. They are more like a delicious roasted sweet potato and are vastly better than french fries with such a beautiful fillet. Our very kind waiter, Duarte, made the experience quite enjoyable and fun. Really a cozy, festive atmosphere inside the restaurant, also! The only downside would be that there are no green salads available at this restaurant if you are in the mood for that. Definitely reserve in advance.
Good atmosphere, friendly staff and several dishes to taste.

We stayed in Terceira for four days and had great meals. This restaurant was the exception. While the servers did their best and were responsive, the food was not good. Two of us ordered vegetarian past that included cold and not cooked well pasta and hardly any vegetables; the pasta with shrimps was not better and the vegetables soup was much too salty. Do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere.
We ate at Tasca das Tias to celebrate Mother's Day. They were able to seat all 11 in our family at one table and even got the Celtics game on a TV for us! Our group was very impressed with everything from the food to the service to the ambiance. I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant!
