The restaurant is run by a lovely & personable husband and wife team that you will be personally greeted by. Our table f 4 had soup, entree, dessert & plenty of wine all for under 100 Euros. Highly recommend ad can’t wait to go back. So many other things on the menu I want to try. Very quaint so I recommend making reservations.

We were in the Azores for 10 days. I went here three times because the food was so good. We ate dinner out every night on the trip. We are a family of 5. All of us enjoyed the meal so much. Staff was kind and helpful. Met the chef on the last night. We had the octopus, fish, carbonaras, shrimp and squid ink pasta, risottos and most of the appetizers. Some of the items, best I have had. Portions are plentiful, prices very reasonable. Tips: don't be swayed by the outside appearance (sitting outside was nice, local watering hole next door), don't be in a rush, brush up on your Portuguese wines

We spend a lovely 9 days in Sao Miguel and were surprised by quality of food offered by local restaurants. There are several places across the island (and locally in Lagoa), where you can find good food and friendly atmosphere. Dinner in Alma Latina however, was something extraordinary even for the highly established standards on the island. I wanted to try something from Brazilian cousine and grelhada mista was a perfect choice. Few different types of meat and cassava could give you a taste of cousine, which is very uncommon in my middle-european industrial region. And it was very, very tasty. My wife ordered grilled tuna and that was (in her own words) best fish she ate by far. The white wine was sublime complement to her dish. We felt like we ate in top restaurant with owners taking care of any detail. If we ever go back to Azores, we definitely return to this little gem.

We had 2 weeks holiday in the Azores eating in many restaurants. The food at Alma Latina in Lagoa was by far the best, You have to try the Pork Ribs in Honey Sauce (sorry veggies) they were fabulous.
