This restaurant is a trap but not a tourist trap. As soon as you arrive here, George greets you so warmly that you can't leave. You don't want to break his heart. George's wife or sister, I don't know, explained to us in great detail what to order and how (I only understood half of it, but you can get away with just saying yes). This woman could even give you a broken washing machine . The restaurant, which is also the family villa, is more remote. That's why it's quiet and not touristy. The food cart cannot be raised so you know when the food is coming. The food was good, but you shouldn't come for the food, but for the experience. George, who felt like he was everywhere and his wife/sister who had everything under control and bet you didn't finish your drink. So overall a must do if you are near here! But be careful, you will probably dream of the food cart after your visit ;).

Super lovely hosts and I also like the concept. However, you don't get enough for your money. It's not expensive but maybe a little high for what you get. We had the chicken with piri piri and unfortunately there was little meat on it and it had been on the grill for too long. It would have taken twice the portion to fill me up...

I have been visiting Chicken George since I was just a little girl as my family regularly frequent Carvoeiro. I recently visited again this June, and it’s still as good as ever.
If you are looking for authentic peri peri chicken, George’s is unmatched. Prices are extremely fair as well. My only recommendation is that if you are visiting as a group and are fairly hungry, order a couple extra portions of chicken - it’s worth it.

Delicious. However, these prices are sometimes a bit too high for what you get. 6€ for 5 slices of tomato mozzarella is quite a lot. However, €8 for a large portion of chicken with fries is quite cheap. The fries were disappointing though. It is a family business, so you shouldn't expect professional service or anything like that. Still highly recommended
Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs. Toilet is unsuitable for wheelchair users

Gutted. I only found this place the day before I left. The food was cooked fresh over coals by George, who was a genuine friendly guy. His wife sat down at our table and explained the menu to us. All in all, it was like having dinner with the family. You are really made to feel welcome. I will be returning next year, and it will be a few times. Thank you George and family.

Delicious chicken cooked and served with love. A truly Portuguese experience. A lovely family run restaurant with very friendly staff. This is not fine dining but you’ll definitely get a gorgeous cooked locally sourced chicken, absolutely delicious! The mozzarella salad was lovely too!
