This restaurant is a trap but not a tourist trap. As soon as you arrive here, George greets you so warmly that you can't leave. You don't want to break his heart. Super lovely hosts and I also like the concept.
However, you don't get enough for your money. It's not expensive but maybe a little high for what you get. We had the chicken with piri piri and unfortunately there was little meat on it and it had been on the grill for too long. It would have taken twice the portion to fill me up...

I have been visiting Chicken George since I was just a little girl as my family regularly frequent Carvoeiro. I recently visited again this June, and it’s still as good as ever.
If you are looking for authentic peri peri chicken, George’s is unmatched. Prices are extremely fair as well. My only recommendation is that if you are visiting as a group and are fairly hungry, order a couple extra portions of chicken - it’s worth it.
