As a Michelin star restaurant, it should be held to a high standard. We had an ok experience here. The oysters were good, but almost ruined by the foam which seemed entirely unnecessary and the flavor did not go well with the dish, they were much better without it. The beef tartare and veal were both amazing and deserve credit. The codfish was good but overcooked and had a few bones in it. When we ordered wine by the glass, we got completely shorted on the pour with both our glasses well below the 15cl line. This was something small but unpleasant and gave a bad impression. The chocolate dessert was good but very small and nothing too special or creative. Overall, it was good but expected a lot more considering it is a Michelin star restaurant. For the price we felt it was not worth it.

We had a lovely evening and the service was great and very attentive. The only thing that bothered us was one comment after the main course: we were asked about the dessert menu, to which we answered yes. The service lady then commented that we would be very hungry if we wanted to eat dessert now. It would have been wiser to recommend something to us and not give us the feeling of being “gluttonous”.
The food itself was good, the salt-crusted fish “Catch of the Day” was excellent. However, the side dishes were very weak. The vegetables were slightly overcooked and presented carelessly compared to the great starter, for example, and the sauce didn't have much flavor.
Nevertheless, the starter and dessert were very tasty and well prepared. We also particularly liked the fantastic olive oil as an amuse.

Team not properly trained. The cover plates were not removed to serve the main course.
The meat was not at the requested doneness and had to be returned.
The ancho steak served for the second time was cold.
The truffle risotto was very good and the olive oil served was of excellent quality. The wine list is very good.
However, the price does not match the price charged.

I was at the Niepoort wine dinner and it was a fantastic experience, the pairings were perfect thanks to the great Joana Reis. Very well prepared food and incredible atmosphere. I highly recommend this Michelin guide restaurant

3 of us had the taster menu. It was creative, but some of the quality was not a good value. I can see why they lost the Michelin Bib Gourmand label, as they are now priced closer to what I would expect from a starred restaurant but the experience is not a star experience.Also, for the first time I have seen in Portugal, a 10% gratuity was buried in the total … and by buried I mean it was noted in the total but the line item was near the top of the itemization so it felt… a little devious. The waitstaff was very attentive, educated on the food and wine, and professional and would have definitely received at least a 10% tip in appreciation… but the way it appeared on the bill felt awkward.

We enjoyed two dinners and two breakfasts in this restaurant and I’m honestly still dreaming of the food. Everything was devine. One of my absolute favorite restaurants. You should definitely go when you‘re in the neighborhood and even if you‘re not: the restaurant is worth a whole trip to Lagos! Trust me you won’t regret it!!
