Family atmosphere. Welcoming and courteous staff. Good traditional food with fixed menu. Great music (fado) with great voices and virtuoso instrumentalists. Highly recommended!

The only good thing about this place is the musicians. The rest is a scam. They tell you beforehand that you can pay by card only to surprise you at the end by saying their card machine is not working. Many other reviews say the same. We said that we could only pay by card as we didn’t have a bank card and magically 10 minutes later the card machine worked just for us. My guess is they do this to avoid taxes, but customers end up paying exorbitant atm fees. All drinks are very overpriced and the food is not great. The owners are unfriendly, rude, dishonest and just looking for a cash grab. Avoid this place.

Something of ours that we have been finishing the first performance.
As they were singing we waited so as not to interrupt, which seemed to not please the staff, who received us in a less than cordial manner. To which I said that we could come in and have a drink and enjoy the show. He accompanied us to some free places at the table. He informed us that each drink was €10, to which I agreed (it is clear that artists must be paid). Before we could have anything, there was a break. (The two Fados very well performed). We were there until a little late in the second pass, we paid and when the next topic was over we left, it seemed to me that I didn't like this detail either.
For me it is a sign of respect for the artist to wait to finish a song to enter and leave without interrupting (I appreciate it in my performances).
I can't rate the food, we didn't see it convenient to ask, just in case.
The onlookers are scared, inviting them to enter, if they want they will enter, if not they leave.

Despite the good table service, it took 50 minutes for the food to arrive and the restaurant was not very busy (me and 5 friends were the only ones in the entire restaurant). I don't recommend it, and by the way, the bitoque doesn't have rice, and the squid has plastic and the icing on the cake, I was refused a glass of water after spending 95 euros

An unforgettable evening! We were worried that we might not like this wistful music. But that wasn't the case, we were just blown away. The two musicians and the two singers were simply fantastic and were able to easily fill the room without any annoying amplifiers or microphones.
For €25 we also got soup, bread, olives and a small plate of octopus salad or a kind of goulash. Other drinks were extra.
The staff was super friendly and very attentive. We will live on these memories for a long time, thank you Café Vádio!

We really liked the Fado music, the food during the three breaks was unnecessary and especially the main course at 10:30 p.m. was too late. A good cold plate would have done the trick too! Price per ticket 25 euros was very ok for the music plus food. Red wine at 20 euros was expensive, but we liked it. The waitress and waiter tried very hard to serve as quickly as possible. All in all, definitely worth a visit!

(Febr 2024)Only cash payment! You pay €25 and get 3 small courses of food plus the live music. That's a reasonable deal in my opinion, even if beverages are not included. You can order water...When you come to your reserved table, a bottle of wine is already waiting there, the same on all tables. It is a suggestion, you don't need to buy it, you can choose another beverage. Before the music starts, you get bread and spreads, fish+potato fritters, olives. After the first set of music, a soup + bread is served. In the second interval, the "main plate" is served. You can choose between cold octopus salad (which was delicious) or a plate of pork, I don't know what kind.We enjoyed the concert, two different female fadistas with the 'mandatory' 2 guitarists, one of them with the Portuguese guitar. The place felt touristic, not many locals were among the ~60 guests.Anyway, we liked it, and will return before leaving Algarve.

Parking: No parking close to the restaurant. Best on the main street, a few blocks down, close to the water. Free street parking evenings. Note! Different times summer and winter.
