Dom Vinho is a special Portuguese restaurant and one of our favorite go-to places in Lagos. This establishment has earned its place as a beloved local favorite, thanks to its blend of traditional dishes prepared in a contemporary manner, outstanding wine selection, and warm, welcoming service.
The dining experience at Dom Vinho is exceptional. The owner, António Matos, is highly acclaimed for his deep knowledge, award-winning creations and dedication to providing memorable meals. His passion for hospitality shines through in every detail, ensuring that each visit is delightful.
Behind the scenes, António’s wife works her magic as the phenomenal chef. Her culinary expertise is evident in every dish. The menu features an array of traditional Portuguese dishes, each prepared with the freshest ingredients and a creative touch. From the savory seafood, to the perfectly cooked meats, every bite is a testament to her talents.
Adding to the charm of Dom Vinho is Hiana, a remarkably engaged and skilled server who elevates the dining experience with her attentive and friendly service. Her knowledge of the menu and wine list is impressive, and her genuine warmth makes every guest feel valued.
The wine selection at Dom Vinho is also noteworthy. António’s passion for wine is reflected in a carefully curated list that features some of the best of Portugal, perfectly paired to complement the exquisite cuisine. Whether you are a local, or a visitor to Lagos, we believe Dom Vinho is a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates a quality dining experience delivered with local Portuguese flair.

Very tasty food and drinks (extensive wine, whiskey, port, etc. menu).
Our party of 4 all chose different dishes and everyone was very satisfied. The atmosphere and service were excellent, both the maître and the lady were very knowledgeable. In this restaurant I didn't feel like a tourist, but I was really pampered. It is advisable to book in advance, because there are only limited tables available. We immediately made a reservation for a few days later.

We were able to enjoy a delicious lunch today in this amazing restaurant. Personally greeted by Antonio, the owner, this restaurant is charmingly filled to the brim with wine bottles from various regions of Portugal. I chose the squid, whilst my husband chose the chicken dish. Both came with a side of vegetables - the green beans were the stars, and I could have eaten a whole plate of them. We chose red wine, a tasty wine from the Douro Valley. We finished our meal with two galao and the apple in Port wine dessert. It's not inexpensive, but I will always choose quality over quantity. Well worth it.
