Authentisches portugiesisches Essen. Abgepackte Butter zum Brot ist eine Unverschämtheit. Für zwei Personen Brot und Butter für 4,30€! Essen an sich aber sehr lecker.
We arrived with no reservation and the place was busy, but they accommodated us. The food was delightful (try the chicken in clay pot), the service was excellent and friendly, and the ambiance was very nice. Would recommend this place.
Fantastic restaurant with a delicious meal. They were not able to accomodate us the first night so we made reservations for our second night there and thoroughly enjoyed the dinner experience- the wait staff was so attentive and the food and wine spectacular!
Tried getting in 3 nights in a row. No luck!On our last night we got lucky and walked in for 2.Absolutely amazing experience.Had the stuffed crab, cataplana, and rack of lamb.Everything was amazing and decently priced.I would highly recommend.Ask for Rubin, he made the whole experience better and even gave us a tour of their amazing cellar.Would recommend and would go back

For us the food was very hit or miss. The bread and olive oil was okay, but the oil was pretty bland. The onion soup was awesome, but the bread soup was basically just garlic. I'm pretty sure I smelled horrible after that. Finally we had the cous cous dish and the tofu. The couscous was good, the tofu and rice were pretty horrible. It was described as a soy sauce dish, and I'm pretty sure that's all it was because it reminded me of when I first tried making an asian sauce. Shame on me I guess for ordering asian though.
Vegetarian options: Don't eat here, it's limited and it's not good.

Been coming here for more than 25 years . The menu hasnt changed. Don’t let that put you off. The staff are wonderful. The food a delight . Highly recommended
I'm so glad I came here, it's the only place I managed to find Cataplana for one - and it was excellent! The service and the vibe on the terrace were great too
Good atmosphere and friendly people. The food was good but not as great as expected. Very busy and might need to work a little harder to maintain its reputation.
We were highly recommended this restaurant from all my hours of research prior to the holiday. We therefore made a reservation weeks ahead of the trip. We weee most looking forward to this restaurant due to previous reviews. The staff were so rude, we sat for a very long time with no menus being given. A waiter then asked to take our order we hadn’t even had a drinks menu. They were too busy and not coping. The 2 waiters we had were very rude, didn’t want to be working there clearly and were not helpful when we enquired for some help with the menu, as wanted to be recommended dishes. We felt a nuisance being there, but we wanted to give a traditional local restaurant custom. Our main waiter was of the older generation which is lovely to see but he had clearly had enough and was tired and it showed in his delivery. Food was lovely but we had no help with the menu and this was our first meal of our trip. We will not be back due to the service and how it made us feel.
The atmosphere is thriving and venue is beautiful, but the food and service is disappointing. My medium grilled tuna came well done, and while they acknowledged it was over cooked (the chef swapped orders) didn’t seem to care (I was still charged). The house wine was sub-par, which was also disappointing for this well known establishment. Definitely not worth the wait or returning.

An excellent Michelin rated restaurant. The fish was salted and grilled to perfection and every bite was savored. The atmosphere was a bit distracting as our reserved table was outside next to the busy walking path and folks were peering over my head to look at the menu. The wine cellar was an interesting spectacle! We had a blast and would come again.

Average at best, there are better restaurants to go to in this price category. The chorizo we had as a starter tasted like pure alcohol, the “medium rare” steaks we ordered were medium to well done, the waiters were quite attentive, but the overall atmosphere was so so. It wasn’t very lively, no music was playing I didn’t really experience the authenticity they’re portraying.

I have been visiting Lagos for 20 years and eaten here before. I called early afternoon in person and arranged a booking for 4 people, outside, for 19:30 that evening. I repeated this back to the gentleman who took the booking. We called at 19:30 only to be told that we couldn’t possibly have booked as “the outside tables are booked up more than 8 weeks in advance” which is laughable. We were offered a table indoors, which we really didn’t want as we had asked for outside. I am absolutely sure this is done all the time, with outside tables only really given to walk ins. After saying that, the food and service was excellent, but we were disappointed that we didn’t get the table we had booked.
Can't comment on the food as we weren't served due to our order being too small - we wanted to try 2 soups and were told 'that's not possible', that 'they don't serve only soup'. We were left at the table by the waiter with no opportunity to adjust the order... and so we left :) The food on other people's plates looked very appetising though so if you don't mind terrible service, feel free to give it a try.

Nicely decorated interior. The main dishes were great, especially the chicken cooked in clay pot, the pork cheeks with sweet potatoes and the sea bass. The service was average, the waiters were polite but forgetful for instance didn’t bring the butter for our bread until we asked for the second time and by then most of the bread was eaten. The prices for the mains were fair but some items not, e.g butter was €4.50. It’s a nice place but I don’t think you are missing out if you don’t get a chance to eat here. If you want authentic Portuguese food there’s probably other places you could go to.
