Everything was amazing — from the service to the food to the ambiance. You have to order the monkfish cataplana and you will understand. Authentic Portuguese food and the seafood was so fresh. Best meal I’ve had in Portugal. A hidden gem and not near the touristy area but worth the trip!!!!!!

You have to order a cataplana and then you'll understand.The lovely woman who served us had been there for 30 years, the cook for 34. The pride and commitment to authentic Portuguese dishes is all the marketing they need to do. Aside from our table, they appeared to know each and every customer.Cool location that's outside the more touristy zone, which only amplifies the experience.

A friend of mine recommended this restaurant to us, we make a reservation for 6 we order a salad and 2 of their famous dishes, it was so good, everything was great and the owners very nice and friendly, very clean the atmosphere was amazing, my husband enjoyed it very much, all of us did.

Dining at O Alberto's is definitely one of the highlights of our holiday in Lagos, Alberto is a joy to watch in the kitchen, so efficient and superb quality. Odette is lovely, great service and always looks after us very well! ? Hope to be back soon.

Remarkable find in a coastal town filled with plethora of seafood, pasta and hamburger restaurants. Remarkable seafood offerings that are perfectly prepared in a 3 person staff. Alberto (chef), sous chef and the front of house wife Soup of the day simple and delicious, shrimp avocado salad was good, but the prize was monkfish cataplana - filled with monkfish ( firm & fresh) shrimp and clams in a delicious broth with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes- dish was enough for three Shrimp stew was equally good.Recommend dressing up a little and leave the hats at home

The best service and the best authentic Portuguese food in Lagos. Family owned restaurant. So clean, so tidy and welcoming. The staff care for customers and it shows in how they welcome you and serve you food and drinks. Everything they make is authentic and made with fresh, high-end ingredients. The experience is simply perfect. The prices are so surprisingly low for the quality they serve. The lady who runs front of house and serves is so sweet and nice. The owner and chef has been cooking magic there for over 30 years. These people put their hearts and souls there every day and you really need to taste and experience it.

Alberto is an amazing chef and Odette, his wife, is a super nice, kind and energic lady that manages the dining room with a great hospitality. We took a special and amazing Cataplana de peixe, it was incredible!! I really reccomend it for the atmosphere created by Odette and for the special portuguese food for sure!! ????????????
